Has anyone handled a production version of the strider/onion ZT thats out now? I had heard the proto they had at the show was flawless, but that was probably a handfit one inspected before taking it to the show. At 295.00 a pop and Rick Hinderers' XM-18 only costing 385.00 I was wondering if it was worth saving the hundred.

I haven't been this impressed with a tactical knife in a long time my friend. I would say after looking at these and comparing them to the Strider SNG or the Emerson CQC12 and many others I've had the opportunity to both own and handle that these are not only better grips, but stronger folders overall with better fit and finish. The assisted opening is the icing on the cake with the 300 series and sets it above the rest for basically the same or very similar price point Get you one. You will not be disappointed.

Today I am carrying my ZT200 and have to say its flawless perfection. I cannot find fault with this folder. I also have a ZT301 which is just as flawless and don't get me wrong. I love it but this 200 has really won me over. For one I like the manual opening better, and most importantly the pocket clip mounting positions which set the knife in the pocket deeper.

These ZT knives are not just home runs folks. They are grand slams in the tactical knife industry. Way to go Kershaw! You guys just keep knocking my socks off with these knives.

I agree Vassili. 100%.

I forgot to mention my favorite thing about the 200 besides what I already stated. I thought when I was getting these that I'd really go ape over the assisted opening one. But who needs that? I've found that the non sharpened serrations above the thumb studs on the 200 are so grippy that if you need the knife out in a hurry you can just Wave it right open and its as easy to use as the best Waved folders I've tried and mostly because of the silky smooth opening and closing these knives come with. They are really effortless users.

Premium knives has them also.

Since we are showing pics I had to show mine.

I can't tell you how superbly made these folders are guys. The attention to every detail in the finish is beyond what I've seen from any other manufacturer, the grips are better done, the blades are as sharp as any knives new in the box I've seen and yes they are even 'Spyderco sharp' and quite frankly you just have to handle one to believe it. I look for imbalance and things that stand out in a folder as weak points in the system and hard as I look I cannot find any faults in these knives.

You are looking at two of the best offerings out there in all the knife world in my humble opinion and I see quite a few from everyone to know how they compare doing what I do for folks. Grab one of these when you can. They are worth biting the bullet for or sleeping on the couch for. :D

Manufacturing quality of ZT302 is ideal. I had minor issues with ZT200 - had to file liner little bit, otherwise it hurt my thumb. But ZT200 also great knife - just different.

Great pictures Vassili. What camera do you use?

It is Digital Rebel (300D), however key to good picture is not camera, not lenses, but light at least 3 lights: two direct from sides - right and left and one soft-bouncing from the top (camera should support flashes - have like ETTL-II or something and flash should support slave-master protocol).

Thanks, Vassili.

Vassili, STR,

Wow, thanks for the incredible compliments. We have worked very hard on the ZT line-up, and have pushed ourselves to make these blades to be tough users.

They are still a bit hard to find, as delivery has been a bit limited, but they are out there for folks.

The new offerings at this years SHOT Show in Jan. will really start to fill out the Zero Tolerance line-up. We will continue to work hard, and trust that ZT will find a regular place with those users that the knives are designed for.

This knife is really hard to beat for the price. The ZT 0301 is a solid knife, and the texturing is superb. What other knife has a G10 scale with a Ti liner inside and also has a lock bar stabilizer. And just check out the texturing on the Ti slab. Beautiful and effective. Every little detail of this knife adds $$$ here and there, so if you get this knife just slightly below retail like I did, it becomes a serious bargain.

I have a 0301, it's a great knife big tough with a lot of weight to it. You would be hard pressed to find a better folder for the money. You will not find them on sale there are no deals on this knife. Only thing I would like t see would be a little longer pocket clip. Other then that it is top notch.

Actually the liner and clip are both stainless steel with a coating on them. Which for the thickness makes both even stronger than the same thickness of titanium.

The lock is titanium though.

I have looking at ZT myself, I didn't realize there was a size difference between the two or is it just my eyes?

Thanks, for the review on how well they are made it helps me.

I am thing of getting the 154 version, should I go ahead and purchase?

Cheers!

I believe that the lock bar stabilizer used, is Rick Hinderer's lock bar stabilizer.

Hi all, this is my first post. Just thought I’d add that these are also available at lapolicegear.com at slightly below retail. I ordered a ZT200 from them last week and they shipped it out the very same day. Indeed this is a gorgeous knife with immaculate fit and finish, smooth action and solid lockup.

Regards,
Steve

Why aren't these knives carried by more than 2 dealers? I don't understand.
prince, they are a lot more than 2 dealers, call up the factory and they can get you a list. The new website (couple of weeks out) will also have a list of ZT dealers.
Again these knives are not mass produced, so we don't need to create a huge backorder issue by setting up too many dealers. There is also no distributor program with ZT, so you are not going to see some of your regular places offering the line.

Steve, I've read on numerous sites that the material under the G10 of the ZT 0300 is Ti. Are you talking about the 0200?

Death's Head, the material under the G-10 is 410 stainless on the 300 series.
