Kershaw ZT0200 speed assisted?

The ZT 0200 opens so fast and smooth with the big blade it has, you don't even need the speed assist. ;)

Very subjective question. Personally, I think the 0200 & 301/302 are more comfortable than the 0400. As to the 0200 vs 301/302, they really are different knives (& a different price tag!).

The 0200 is a flipper with SS liner lock & G-10 scales on both sides (Non-A/O)
The 301/302s are A/Os with titanium frame lock & G-10 scale on one side.
Their handle shapes are different, too, but I think they're both comfortable.

I just got a ZT 200, but when I throw the flipper it stops half-way. Should I loosen the nut? Any other recommendations?

I'd suggest just working the action for a while. If it doesn't loosen up after a while, an adjustment may be in order. Since I don't own one, and NGK was out of stock the last time I was there, I can't offer any real world experience about the ZT.

However, once broken in/adjusted, if it opens anywhere as fast as my Groove (also not AO), you'll be pleasantly pleased. The Groove is as fast as my Mini Cyclones, and faster than my full size ones.

I have a suggestion bp...start working on your flipping technique.

Man, I love my 0200. I took mine apart and polished up the steel liners where the washers go, and also polished the blade where the washers go, put it all back together with a little miltec lube and it is even smoother than before, and before it was pretty smooth! I generally keep a fairly tight pivot on my folders.

The ZT 0200 is not speed assisted, but that's what the ZT 0300 is for. Even without it, it is one smooth and easy opening knife. I love mine :D

I was pretty good at flips back when I was a youngin', but I think now, at 53, if I tried a flip, I'd probably break my back in-half and land on my head.:D.:D.

...mmmmmmmmmmmm...pancakes............
I wonder if Thomas W could have ment flipping out, or maybe even flipping off when he's talking "technique"?.:D.:D.

Seriously, tho...Practice DOES make "perfect", and the more you flip your knife open, the smoother it'll get...(At-least 'till you wear it out or wear it dry of lube.). My JYD II flips open REALLY fast, and locks up solid...That's hard to beat.

I just got my ZT 0200 in today,.....it it's GREAT! What a nice piece of work for oh so little depreciating greenbacks.

One thing i noticed with this, because it is not an assisted opener,.....is that when using the flipper in the "up" (skyward) position,.......no matter how hard i flipped i coun't get it fully opened. Gravity just worked against that heavy blade..........

BUT,.......piece of cake to open if you angled the flipper toward the ground while flipping,.......and even faster if you angled the knife toward the ground a bit. That way the heavy blade has gravity working for rather than against you.

.........and mine seems super smooth right out of the box.

I was a bit curious why a bronze bushing was used on these, however. I thought maybe it's to allow a "serviceable" repair to be made should excessive play develope in the pivot area thru hard or extended use?

.......now is somebody comes up with a hardened steel roller bearing as an upgrade for the blade pivot,.............drop me a line! :D
