I recently picked up a new Leek. This is the 1660SWBLK. The first thing I noticed was their stonewashed blade finish is much nicer now. I wasn't a fan before.
Here it is next to the forum Skyline. Big difference. I like the chaotic "furry" look of stonewashed blades. Kershaw nails it now! I'd like to see this on ZT knives as well, if they haven't done so already. I wish my ZT0560 looked like this. KAI, is this a change in your stonewashing process, or is this specific only to certain models?

Here is an old thread on the topic with more nice pictures.

The only newer Kershaw I have bought was my Knockout around last christmas time and it has that "furry" look as you call it lol. I really like it a lot as well. I also have a mini skinner, 1080OR if I remember right, that I bought a couple years ago and it also has that chaotic furry look to it. What is the blade steel on your 2 knives there? Maybe it depends on what steel is used?

I don't know, this SW finish is definitely different than any SW finish I've seen from KAI before. And I've owned more than a few.
