Quick question one of the people I buy knives off of has a Kershaw Ram Satin Blade NIB that was 1 of 500 productions knives...DOes the fact its 1 of 500 make it more valuable and is 40 bucks a good deal?

Besides having a cool locking system..What do u all think of the Ram as a folder...gimicky or decent work/defense/EDC knife?

no...in fact i find that graphic on the blade to be extremely ugly and i wish they'd stop doing it...

Are you talking about the First Production 1 of 500 that is on the blade? I'm not a big fan either, but I just figure it's gonna get used anyway so it doesn't bother me that much.

FYI, Kershaw doesn't individually number first production runs.

1 of 500 doesn't mean the very first one produced, it means one of the five hundred original productions (If that makes sense).

I regularly cycle between all of mine (four of them) as EDC. I still need a couple more of Gavin Hawk's Grip Clips, though.

The RAM is probably my favorite production folder. It opens faster than any AO I can think of and as fast or faster than any auto I have ever seen. The RAM takes a wicked edge and holds it for a very respectable amount of time. The ergos are great 40 bucks for that knife is an excellent deal I would snap one up to back up the three others I had at that price. I have not owned on with the 1of 500 stamp but IMHO its really hard to make a RAM more valuable than mine is to me.

yes...i look forward to it to be scratched off in use...then again i have 3 others with that graphic...crap...

The guy selling it only has one to sell...He had it on ebay for 45 bucks and i emailed it to him if it didn;t sell i would buy it for 40 bucks...and out of know where i get a paypal request...soi have a Ram..the black tungsten one..i got that for 45 bucks..i was going to save for a mini grip but there like 60 bucks and this came up...so i am pondering..

You don't like it, don't buy it. The first run is usually snapped up quick (esp on an affordable knife) the second run is usually right behind, sans marking. All you gotta do is wait a week or 2 after release, call your dealer of choice and tell them you don't want a marked blade. Pretty simple, right?

The RAM is a pretty cool, very solid knife. The handle shape didn't really ring my bell, but, the flipper and lock are awesome. The blade grind is pretty nifty too.

$4o bucks for a new RAM is a pretty good deal. You probably should go ahead and snap it up. If you don't like it, you can probably flip it for what you have in it.

I actually just got a email from the seller the ram i was going to buy was a combo edge...He just emailed me and said he has a plain edge he'll give me for 40 bucks but its doesn't have the production number on it , which is fine by me..i am trying to get rid of a lot of my combo edge
