Mrs. Martino, I'd appreciate it if you could show Kesar Lal what this report says. He might like to know what an American kami thinks of his blades.

Took Kesar Lal to the range with me today as some trees and brush needed cleared off before all the black powder started to burn. The more I use this KLVUK, the more I like it. The photograph is a Mulberry tree that is almost 5" across....and Kesar had it for lunch. Took him about 3 minutes to chew through it and it was just as sharp when finishing all the chopping as when we started. We tackled a Walnut tree that was growing too big for it's location. As we were going through a 6 inch limb, Kesar let out a rather unusual screech and came to a stop. He had chewed completely through a 16 penny nail someone had pounded into the tree years ago when hanging up a steel gong to be used as a target. I examined the edge of the blade and there was not a nick or flat spot showing, nor a chunk taken out of the blade. I believe that Kesar Kami figured out old Ganga Ram's magic. The more you use his blade, the sharper it gets! You guys can say what you want about your fav-rav bladesmith, but for the money and just out and out performance, you gotta go a long way to get past Kesar Lal and one of his blades, yes indeedy.

Awesome story Bookie!
Got 2 of Kesar Lal's new ones with the rhododendron handles at 16 ounce each and love them! I'll feed them some old gum trees this weekend so they can sharpen their teeth!

Great. Looks like you refinished the handle? Looks good, and glad the two of you made it past that nail.

Know what you mean doc! Great lil review. Mine dont get as much use but only because i spread it out between five of them:D They all get used tho and have their place on the property.

Is that a KLVUK? I love mine, it's the really the only heavy duty knife I use anymore. Whenever I get a new khuk or big knife I play with them for a couple days, but they quickly go back on the shelf. If I have any actual work to do I only grab the KLVUK. I haven't had to use hatchet or axe for anything either, the KLVUK handles it all.

I've never sharpened it now that I think about it. It's as sharp as the day I bought it though.

Had a coat of stock oil on the handle, but that has been covered over by the sweat & oil from my hands getting worked in through use. This does get used a lot, and I do admit to engraving the butt cap. Them gum tress don't stand a chance! It's like I told you, the more you use that Kesar Lal, the sharper it gets!...and you can quote me!
