I love the look of those Spring Knives. Just a really handy looking blade all around:)

My wife, daughter, and I are taking a very short camping trip next week during Spring Break...well, "camping" inasmuch as we're staying in my mother-in-law's RV for a couple of evenings. The dog and I might pack a tent...I dunno. I'm not big on RVing at all.

That said, it's going to be a light trip. I don't think I'm going to worry about packing a heavy duty chopper. Something like this Spring Knife would be perfect for splitting kindling and other camp chores. Since I don't have one of these, I think I'll just sharpen up my much used and loved KLVUK:)

A handy khuk that doesn't weigh a ton that you don't mind to bugger up a bit is a fantastic campsite tool for sure:)

That is a some beautiful wood on that mini Ndoghouse, you just have to convince her it is an Easter present...to you from you LOL. Now go out there and buy her something 3x's as expensive that she will love and when the box comes in pretend her gift was what was in it?!?!

Steely that KSLK is calling to you, it is saying it can even make RV "Camping" worthwhile... Just consider it a part of the necessary tools and send Auntie an email, you know you want too!! It is almost exactly like mine but mine is horn. That Saar wood sure shines up really pretty with Tru-oil. I haven't finished mine yet but have seen it and it is awesome.

The sheaths with these KLSKs don't have the empty spaces for karda and chakma, so the sheath is slimmer up top. I like this weight for the length (and this model is more attractive to me than a sirupate with the same weight).

You got it! I even warned her about this one. Hope it comes in a little square box. She'll think its a T-shirt or something from Pugs:rolleyes:

Won't be nothing from Pugs. I told him not long ago you were getting in a lot of trouble with the missus over getting packages and stuff so he's not sending you no more. Figured it's the least we can do to help and save your marriage.

Same conversation I told him my marriage was rock solid so he can still send me stuff. Well maybe rock solid in a little kids water wing in the middle of the Pacific. Solid enough.

...I even warned her about this one...

Let me guess, something like this warning?: :D
"I'd have a complete set if it wasn't for this one missing knife,.. One of these months or years, when this specific model of knife with just the right combination of size and handle material come up as a DOTD, I'm going to have to try to get it, and even then, I probably won't be lucky enough to score it because of all the other sharks looking for deals, and when I finally do succeed, it will be a great day!"

Makes sense to me (as long as it wasn't promised to be the last one ever).

So I'm guessing the lucky day came sooner than expected. Congrats!

Man you nailed it on the head Steve! That is exactly what I told her. Of course in the back of my mind theres still the little brother to the Giant chitlange Bowie. Then Ill have em ALL! I like the way you think:thumbup: Im just hoping she dont like as much as her KLVUK:eek:

Ohh wait so I should send it to you?? so we can save him?? I could send it to you and then if you think it will get him in trouble then I guess you will have to keep it.

I think the little brother of the Giant Chit Bowie is the most beautiful of all the non-custom HI blades, and more practical than its big brother for most purposes and most people. Vim seems to be the only one of the current HI kamis who makes them. Here are a couple photos of one by Sher:

This one is 15.5" overall length and weighs 28oz. The light area on the buttcap is just a reflection.

I imagine these would be very popular here if Yangdu can convince Vim to make some more, or perhaps Bhakta would like to try his hand at this model.

That's a beaut David. I need to fill that size slot some day myself.

Right now I think I'm gonna send about 5 empty triangle boxes to Ndog. Up here in the wet NW we call that stirring the pot.

I can just see the missus now when he gets home. You got some splainin to do Lucy! Dang this is a fine idea.

Thats a fine blade David, it definitely on my list, and so is its big brother.

Keep stirring buddy! I aint dead yet:D Yeah I had some trouble trying to splain that one! Kinda like the Katana...im still splainin!

That is a beauty David! I think Tirtha made a few of the 15 inchers but im not sure. Youre probably right. I bet Bhakta could do them as good as he is with the AKB's.
