Man I love ironwood! I've only used it a couple of times but definitely plan to use more of it. Did this one up for a customer last week.

wow great looking knife.

i have a question, for wood handles do you buy blocks that are small like that or cut them from larger blocks? my semi local wood store only had wood in fairly large blocks but not in neat little pieces.

Thanks Drakoon.

This knife came from a set of precut scales that were small. All I had to do was cut to shape of the handle and off I went. I do occassionally buy large chunks of wood and cut them down to blocks which I then get stabilized. I've got a good table saw with self aligning rip fence. Works great to square up largish pieces. If they are really large I get a friend with a portable sawmill to cut them into manageable pieces.

Also once I get the block to a manageable size I sometimes just take the block and cut scales out of the entire block (both 1/4" & 3/8" scales).

Take Care,
Sean
