Kettlebell !!

Dinner Bell ???

Yep I use it to train for the trough in Atlanta :D

what sort of workout do you do - just individual exercises or do you tie them together for a cardio blast

I'm a powerlifter, I don't really train for hypertrophy or to be ripped, I just train for strength.

The kettlebell training is used on a dynamic day for me, focusing more on explosive movements. I do not do them in conjunction with deads/bench/squat, but they're in the place rotated weekly of snatches and cleans.

I use themm they're a great workout. I'm in my 50's I find 1/2 hr 3 days a week is excellent for me. Get a copy of Enter the Kettlebell by Pavel.

they are very good - you only have to do a little every week (like 3 days) and as you say it's enough to keep you fit !!

Ha! Someone must have read the latest Gabe Suarez email. I've got ETK and a 35lb (16K) kettlebell on it's way from Amazon.

GET YOUR KB ON AMAZON! If you pick the right ones, they ship it to you for FREE! Dragondoor charges about 30% of the cost for shipping. . . and rightly so. 35# is expensive to ship.

Also picked up his 2 stretching DVD's. I suck at flexibility. I've got ZERO. Nada. None. If I could do that 6-7 days a week and some KB workouts 3x/wk, I'm betting I'd be a lot better off.

I'm a believer in them too - they are obviously much easier to use than dumbbells for a lot of exercises due to the grip.

Like 230 said - they excel at explosive, quick moves where the grip rules.

My favorite is two one in each hand, lay on the floor, keep spread my arms wide out and try to stand up as fast as I can while keep my arms spread - I do as many as I can, as quick as I can

I'm soooooo outta shape.

What book is bat bro

Bodyweight Exercises for Extraordinary Strength
Brad Johnson
978-0926888784

it's only 72 pages, but if you can do even one rep of any exercise in the book your fitter than 90% of america. I learned of brad johnson from a single photo in an ironmind catalog where he was doing a one armed pinch grip pull up off of a 4x6 rafter in his basement, while pinch gripping another 4x6 plank that was attached to a 10 pound weight in his left hand.

I became a certified RKC through Dragondoor in 2004. Didn't keep my cert up though because I wasn't really teaching people for money.

KB's are a great way to stay in shape and also a good tool to push yourself and see what you're made of.

Anybody test a Busse against a KB? That is one expensive man-toy stand off I would like to see!:)

I swing my 35lb KB around a few nights a week. Snatches still kick my ass...LOL!! I got mine from Muscledriver USA. Nice fit and finish. Price was right on the money.

Try the omelet exercise warm up with them
with each arm do
5 swings
5 high pulls
5 snatches
5 clean and press
5 circular cleans
5 loaded lunges

by the time you get done with that little warm up you are already breathing hard.

I own a 35 pounder and have a 53 on the way, nothing like 20-30 min with a kettlebell to teach you humility. I love them.

I've got to get me some. I sold my free weights and joined a gym. It is a pain in the ass getting on the smith machines. I also caught one of the nastiest colds I've ever had following up on a sick member on an ab machine. I would rather work out at home and would like to know what kettle bell weights are the most practical.
