Fed-Ex just arrived at my house and I am now the happy owner of a Kevin Casey Feather Damascus Folder.

Here is Kevin's description of this knife from his website:

This knife features a 3-3/4” Persian style Casey Feather Damascus blade and bolsters. The scales are polished green Mammoth ivory. Spacer and liners are anodized and file-worked titanium. The thumb-stud stone is Jade. OAL 8-1/2”.

Here is the knife:

The Ivory is no quite as reddishish as in Coop's photo. It is a bit browner and really nice.

Kevin has many great Damascus patterns but this version of his feather damascus is my favorite.

Very cool knife Jim. The color of the ivory where it swells is so cool and I love the damascus.

Congratulations Jim!

That is an awesome folder. That damascus is SWEET, as is the mammoth and the filework.

The way the damascus flows to the end of the knife is really nice- on top of everything else.

Super folder, Jim. I can see how that is a favorite pattern for you. Love how the pattern flows through the whole knife. Just a great piece!

Gorgeous folder. The feather pattern running from the blade and through the bolsters is a very nice touch - as is the thumb stud picking up the beautiful green tones in the ivory.

Perhaps I can help Jim :)

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be able to spend 3 days working with Kevin at his shop.
I just happened to be there when Kevin received the knives back from Coop
That being said, I just couldn't resist taking a few amateurish pics of my own : )

Kevin Casey is a pro. I feel extremely proud (and lucky) to be able to call him my friend.

I learned more about making making Knives and Damascus in those 3 days than I've learned in the past couple years :o He is an extremely talented knifemaker.

With his welding forge roaring, I think it was close to 120* in his shop the first 2 days I was there

Here's a pic of him at his press ......

His shop is nearly spotless, and set-up with almost every tool known to mankind.
I had the opportunity to use his induction forge and without a doubt, they are everything I've heard they are....... and more.

Here's a pic of Kevin at the induction forge, getting ready for a little twist;) ..............

I could go on and on about his shop, his skills, and of course his knives......

Kevin Casey really is a class act.

Thanks for posting pics of your new folder Jim  She's a dandy !!
