I've been a fan of Kevin Casey's work for some time now. An understated maker who's work is simple in it's lines, yet superb in the execution and delivery. He is NOT an ABS JS, and he hasn't told me he aspires to this. But, his feather damascus is right up there with anyone's.

He recently had contact with Ken Hurst, who added his touches to Kevin's work. I present to you the results:

And Kevin also sent me this one with only his own work:

Click on his link above to see he clean website, too.

I suggest you head to his table sometime in the VERY near future...

What is the handle material on the second two knives. I'm assuming mammoth with a wood like grain but can't tell.

While not a huge fan of the design, I love the feather pattern steel and I think the engraving looks perfect on these knives and compliments them well. Especially on the backbars.

Yep, Kevin makes a fine feather pattern and does very clean work overall.
Ken's engraving really adds to these pieces.

Very nice photos as well.

Whoa!!! I LOVE feather Damascus on a folder!!! Those are simply exquisite!! That last one is my favorite!!! Be still my beating heart.

Yep I agree those feather pattern's are as nice as any I have seen and they work very nice with the clean folders. If I could only pic one I take the first one.

That's deeper and richer engraving than I previously was aware Ken was capable of. Very powerful. Those knives are superb; I for one really do like Kevin's design sense.

Those are nice, I like the way the blade looks like a normal fixed blade and doesn't have that kick at the back that keeps the cutting edge from contacting something.

So would something like that have a pin inside that would stop the blade?
