This chopper is a brute. You could slice the flesh off your lower leg in a heartbeat if not careful. It's also a beautiful art knife with excellent damascus, appealing handle and sexy french curve S shape. Two different versions of the truth.

The knife above will cut this big rope - numerous times.

Kevin went through all the standard cutting tests including the paper tube cut.

Man, I'd never seen a knife cut like that before.

Kevin is cool.
His cutting demo at an ABS Mid-America Hammer-In a couple of years ago was more like what I would call a 'pro clinic.' You had to be impressed with Kevin's command of the twin bladesmith sciences - physics/geometry of cutting, and metalurgy.

Kevin's chopper came home with me and I've used it extensively, trimming Ponderosa Pine branches for fire mitigation. When you figure out how to use the blade's belly to mechanical advantage, it's like third gear was on my old red Beemer.

And guess what... she still cleans up nice enough to get naked in front of the camera! ;)

Great looking knife! Thaks for sharing that beauty with us, and it's history!

Threads like this help dispel the SERIOUSLY misguided notion that damascus knives are always just "another pretty face", instead of a serious using tool.

Great knife and It is great you showed some great cutting which makes this knife so much more.

Buddy,

That's a great looking knife. It's nice to know that it's also a great user.

Great looking knives. The fact that they are users makes it that much better.

Exactly so.

Gorgeous piece and some really dramatic photos - thanks Buddy.

Kevin had a couple like that at Troy this past year that he was using a test mules for edge geometry, etc. He was telling us about when he used one similar to these to win a cutting comp at a hammer in. The backstory was that Mr. Fisk was still setting up those whacky cutting tasks at the time and apparently asked Kevin to enter with a damascus knife just to prove that one could be competitive.
