I was at the local gun show the other day, and one of the tables that specializes in custom blades had around five folders that looked pretty darn sweet! I asked if I could handle/fondle some of them, and ooohhh, smooth. Yowza. On the blade were two K's...the salesman said the knives were made by a gentleman named Kevin Kimsey(sp?). If I remember correctly, he was a retired Sheriff from Georgia maybe?
Anyway, the knife that really caught my eye had a clip point blade that was double edged, and integral thumb rest with subdued filework, SS bolsters, jigged bone handles, and titanium liners and clip. That 4 inch blade just wanted to fly out! Smoother than Cindy Crawford's legs.

The best part was it only cost $350!! Of course, I didn't have any cash on me, so I'm going to have to work some serious overtime to snag it. Oh yeah, has anyone ever heard of him? Own a knife of his? Maybe he's even reading this now? Is there a website? Inquiring minds want to know!!

I know Kevin, he does very nice work typically well finished fighter/utility knives at very reasonable prices. Great guy to boot. A couple of years ago he won best "Tactical Maker" at the Blade Show. Keven started making fixed blades and now is making folders too. I met him 5 or 6 years ago and remember being impressed with his grinding abilities as well as fit and finish. We have stayed in touch at shows over the years. I have not purchased any of his work, but I plan to someday.
Kevins logo is Rafter KK. If you would like to get in touch with him please e-mail me.

Retired sheriff? - maybe He his about my age (44 maybe younger) so I doubt it, but I am not sure. He has been making knives since the early to mid 80s.
