Guys, I just wanted to say that I went downstairs to check the mail, and found a package from Kevin sitting there. I opened it, and I now have my SOCFK back, fresh from his shop. It. Is. GORGEOUS! I'm in shock, here... it's perfect! Looks like it's fresh from Ernie's shop! The bolsters fit perfectly, the micarta looks amazing, the bead blasting on the liners makes them disappear into the bolsters... I can't keep from raving about this knife! Kevin even matched the filework on the knife to perfection! I'll post pics as soon as I can get my hands on a digital camera. LOL I almost don't want to carry it now, it's so perfect...

Kevin, you do absolutely FABULOUS work! Rest assured I'll send everyone I find who needs knife work done your way. Thanks again, and plan on getting my Commander soon!!!

Chris

Actually your knife is fresh out of my shop

Kevin worked hard on that knife, I know I was there! In all honesty Kevin has a true passion for knives and it shows in his work. He is a quick study and is sure to do well in his knifemaking future. As soon as he gets his shop back up I am sure you will see even more quality work coming from him.

Great work Kevin, keep it up. Your welcome to use my shop anytime your willing to buy breakfast

Larry! Thanks so much for letting Kevin use your shop to work on my knife! It was really cool to know he was working on it, and you were there, as well! He does amazing work, and as his mentor, you must be very proud.

I'll post the pics of it later on today, for the rest of the Suspects to admire. Thanks again, to both of you!

OK - here are some pics, taken during my lunch hour. Now, I'm not John, or Joel, so my mastery of the digital camera is not the best. I hope they came out OK, and aren't blurry!

Sorry for all the links, but I haven't figured out how to embed a picture in a post.

It's beautiful, isn't it?

-EDIT- OK, they are a bit blurry. DAMN! Well, I want to do Kevin's work justice, so I'll keep playing with pics, until I get 'em as perfect as my knife!

That is a sweet looking knife.

Wow! Really great looking! How did he colorize the plastic pivot screw to match the bolsters?

Jay - I asked Kevin to beadblast the titanium bolsters (like Erine does), and I just had him bead blast the pivot screw, as well, so it matched. Can't wait to send him my Commander, too!! BTW - the screw is metal, not plastic.

What I like best is, I asked Kevin to try and use 1 screw under the pivot, to make the bolsters as "clean" as possible (he likes to use three screws, triangulated, to hold the bolster). It went against the grain for him, but he made it work, and it looks amazing!

That is probably the most beautiful SOCFK I've seen.
If you don't mind me asking, what's the price tag on a conversion like that?
