esee people, could you disclose the source of kevlar cordage you are using in the izula wallet kit? i've been looking for a good source and i quickly realized that i don't really know what i'm looking for. that makes the search infinitely harder. apparently, there is a lot of different uses for kevlar threads and such, so i just want to make sure i'm looking at the right stuff. thanks.

Tell Jeff I sent you if you call 'em. Good folks.

eseeratfan, that's one of the sites i saw, but i wasn't sure if it was the same thing or not. i don't really know much about the kevlar stuff yet and was just looking into it. thanks.

could someone explain why you would want kevlar cord instead of using paracord? Would love to learn the differences between the two and the different ways one might use them...

The kevlar cord is used more for E&E applications. It will saw through a ziptie in seconds.

Plumber trick, I'm almost 98% sure I used Kevlar cord ,but you know when you have a PVC pipe bust under ground trying to hacksaw in a tight space is a pain ? well a buddy handed me some cordage and said wrap that cord around the schedule 80 pvc and just pull back & forth like a saw....a minute went by and I had cut thru the PVC pipe using cord, I was like what ???? more useage for it (nylon cord/twine will work too)

I can't wait to experiment with this cord once the Izula E&E kit comes out:thumbup:

braided fishing line is kevlar or spectra -- you can get a bunch of it pretty cheap at wally world.

Ha! I was reading Jeff's SWAT articles on the website and the kevlar cord thing wasn't explained. A quick google search brought me right back here. :-)

Thanks for the tip Mr. Randall!

I have had zero luck melting the ends to keep Kevlar from unraveling. Finally bought heat-shrink tubing to secure ends.

I would also look at the Ultimate Survival Cord from Shomertec. Does about the same duty as Kevlar. Amazing stiff.
