Any suggestions on a flashlight I can attach to my keychain? I know maglight makes one but any others that you can recommend.

If you're willing to consider the 'squeezelight' type, Innova makes one with three settings that's great, especially for the price.

Of course, I may just be biased because it comes with two of the same size batteries my car remote takes, for about the price of the same single battery at the local drug store.

I would like to second the LED-Lenser, although if you are in the states I think they go under the name Coast. Coast Micro Torch despite it's low price has served me for five years and through a deployment to Iraq. For a mini light it has superior projection abilities. That particular model only comes in red light, but that is what is best for you night vision anyway.

Other models come in white.

MOved to Gadgets & Gear since this contains no knife discussion.

The Photon Micro-Light II is also a popular choice. They are small, tough, reasonably priced and you can get them with a variety of beam colors.

I have both the Photon Micro II and the Inova. Everyone in my family (5 of us) have a Photon II on our keychains. Only one has broken. I have the Inova on a chain at work. You'll be happy with either. I found myself buying the Inova lately because they are sold at a close by Target store.

At 1$ a piece, the countycomm lights are great.....you can leave them everywhere,.

Before the tiny LED lights came along, I used to use the Maglite Solitaire. I actually went through three of those as the attachment hole for the split ring kept on breaking.

Yes, the Solitaire would still function as a flashlight, but not being able to attach it to my key ring defeated its entire purpose.

Inova, as suggested above, makes a good inexpensive LED keychain light.

I love the photon micro lights because they are always on your keychain, don't take up any room, weigh nothing and last for a long time.

They aren't as good as a bigger flashlight, but the best tool for the job is the one you actually have when you need it.

I've had a Photon on my keychain for a year and a half now and have been very pleased with it. It's not the brightest light in the world and won't be very useful in getting out of a pitch black cave, but it's good enough for finding the keyhole in the dark.

The ARC-P AAA seems pretty indestructible.

From flashlightreviews.com:

Important things to note: I was a "Beta Tester" for Arc for this new version of their AAA-P. Here are the results of that testing:

10,000 full on-off cycles which includes 9,000 on-off cycles at room temperature and 1000 on-off cycles completed while the lower half of the light was frozen in a block of ice. (picture above)

100 drops from 1 meter onto a wood surface at various angles

50 hours underwater at 1.5 foot depth

Several thousand "rattles" while off... No attempt at counting was made.

No damage or malfunctions. The o-ring required lubrication several times. The rivet in the bottom of the light seems to be as solid as it was when it first came.

The Photons and their clones are nice, but they have a diminishing output and batteries are spendy in retail stores or have to be bought off the internet.

The good thing about an AAA light is that you can find batteries for it at every Stop-n-Rob in America.

I prefer the Arc AAA, but the Fenix LOD CE is less spendy and has more features. [Edit: the Fenix is not less spendy. :)].
