I carry a keychain with a usb and a small pry bar with me everywhere. Is there any small flint (or other fire starter) that would fit on the keychain and be useable? I carry the keychain in my back pocket so it would need to be a pretty flat item and not too thick.

You could check out the ultimate survival technologies blastmatch Fire starter. It is all the peice and 4 in closed not sure how well it would hold up with back pocket carry but an idea.
The light my fire firesteel would probably hold up better in a back pocket but it is 2 piece so have the chance of losing one are the other.

Try a BSA Hot Spark. Buy them through the Boy Scouts of America. Or check firesteel.com

I have a SOG keychain that has a small diamond pad, ceramic sharpener and ferro rod. The whole thing is about ...WARNING - METRIC MEASUREMENT ;) - 3mm thick, 70mm long and 15mm wide. I was a bit skeptical when I bought it but it's actually not bad.

I would say something along the lines of the exotac would be the most survivable. the blast match and the mini version are both a bit bulky for pocket carry, unless you have deep pockets. My thought would be a peanut lighter. the good ones hold fuel for a long time, and even if empty will throw at least some spark.

That said you can get small ferro rods off the bay for cheap, and you could super glue some string on for a loop. If your prybar can take an edge (90 degrees) then you have a striker. If it doesn't work out, you are only out a couple bucks.
