Ok, I've had a bazillion different keychain knives.

keycomm
ladybug
bug
micron
benchmite

numerous others.

currently I've got a Micron on there, love it cuz it's THIN and blends in with the keys.

Looking for something similar but a bit nicer, while staying nearly as thin and light.

AG Russell Ultimate Pen Knife, 2.5 or 3.0 lockback are about the only things I've found that MIGHT work. Anybody have other options or opinions.

Also any pics with any or all of those three with a Micron would be GREATLY appreciated!!

By 'Micron', I assume you mean the SOG? I don't have one, But between myself & several friends, we have: Gerber LST, Kershaw DWO, Buck Nano, Case 225L, U.S. Schrade SP2, and a couple of little junkers from Pakistan. Except for the Paki's, they're all built pretty much the same: no liners, stiff scales, usually no lube needed.

I'm getting one of those A.G. Russell 3.0's later this year.

Here's a list of some others. (I looked all this up a while back when I was going to gather up a bunch of small knives for my Cub Scout Pack.) These may or may not work for you, but it'll be a start:

Myerco AOK
Camillus CM4
Ontario Legacy
Western WS510
Moore Maker 3212DLB
Colonial (LK?)
Winchester WR14013 & WR14016 & 3022 (all at SMKW)
Opinel #5 (probably too fat, but can be thinned down a little)
Kershaw 5200
Boker Barracuda

(By the way, some are discontinued or the makers are out of business. :( )

thx - cpr

hmm... thanks, I'll have to take a bit and look at those, I checked out a couple, but we'll see wht they all seem like. :)

How about something from Victorinox keychain series? Like classic SD, Manager or such? Suru they're small and have no locks. But once you keep one of them around you find how handy they are. Sure they're slipjoint knives and thus they are really overlooked. I loved my Prime / Manager that has small ball point pent, Philips screwdriver, small high quality blade and scissors. They are unfortunately very underpreciated when they come against Sypderco and similar but no reason to dismiss them until you try them. They're not that expensive.

I've got an ALOX SAK in my pocket at all times as well, I thought about that, just looking for something as plain/small/simple as I can find. :)

I have never found a "keychain knife" that I like to use as a knife because the keys get in the way of proper usage. What works better for me is a small knife that is not on the keychain.

I've never tried one, but the Al Mar Osprey always appealed to me as a higher end keychain knife. I've almost went for the Ultimate Pen Knife many times, but haven't got around to it. People say it's very thin. Plus it has good materials and a decent price.

I'm going to have to agree with the Vic keychain knife suggestion. I keep my keys on a carabiner, so it's easy to slip the knife out to use rather then leaving it attached to a bunch of keys.

For cutting power and no weight at all there's nothing like the FRN Dragonfly with SE. Just get rid of the clip. The keys actually double as a handle for pulling cuts.

I agree.
I'm actually quite fond of Swiss+Tech's Utili-Key for the sole reason that opening the blade detaches it from your keys entirely.
They are every bit as small and thin as the Micron, but at a glance it would pass as just another key. I just wish there was a full PE version. :thumbdn:

I like my keychain knife. I just use one of those little disconnecting joints. Works Great.

I use a spyderco Jester
as well as the victorionox broker. Both great little knives. I find the scissors to be especially handy:)

I recommend a Swisstech Utilikey. It looks like an ordinary key but has a knife, screwdrivers and bottle opener and is quite though.

utilikey is on the work keys, I don't like it enough to put it on the main keyring... I always have a SAK in the pocket, the subclaw picture scale money clip and a spydie clipped to the pocket, this is just somethign to round out what needs to be on the keychain (OCD a bit). The Micron is really good, and I'm really thinking about the ultimate pen knife, love the TI/VG10 combo for materials.

ultimate pen knife is perfect, if it was just about 50-100% bigger... 2.5 looks good, wish it had a lanyard hole to attach it to the keys, dosn't look like it does. 3.0 does, but might be a bit big... *sigh* decisions, keychain perfection is impoossible :)

How about the legendary Fallkniven U2? Great blade shape and fantastic steel, I carry mine on a flexible cable keychain which is stiff enough to provide a secure four-fingered grip. I end up using it more than whatever EDC knife I happen to be have in my pocket at the time.
