Hey,
I need a rec. for a new knife for my keychain. I have a HAK on one keychain, but looking for something else for my other keychain (2 cars/2 keychains).
What do you guys (and girls) think?

I like the older, smaller Ladybug for keychain use. I am currently planing on buying the little knife Spyderco makes that is slightly bigger than the Bug. Still, personally, I'd rather have the Bug than the Ladybug.
If you want to have a quality fixed knife look at the Nemisis Hellion, and/or the LaGriffe.

Hard to beat the Ladybug. That thing cuts like a laser right out of the box, plus its super lightweight (which is good for the keychain). Not to mention it uses premuim steel and its not even expensive.

The Spyderco Spin is my Favourite keychain knife. It's a great cutter, and I use it to secure my keys to my pocket.

I have a Spydie Edge Ladybug on my keychain. Used to carry a Victorinox Classic on the keychain. I like both, but since I usually have a SAK on my person, I've opted for the Ladybug.

Hi newknifeguy -

How about something truly custom?

A real custom made keychain knife, with custom sheath, made right here in the USA by a Forum Maker.

I second the Hellion. My wife carries hers every day.

I find the tools aside from the knife on the victorinox classic give it that little extra usefulness that keeps anything from bumping it off my keychain. Besides, if i'm actually just going to cut something, my regular pocketknife is what i'm going to be reaching for

The Hellion's nice, but was way too small for my hands, as was the Buck Hartsook, which wasn't bad, either.

I think your HAK's the best choice as I carry one on my key-chain after carrying various LadyBugs, the Hellion, Hartsook, etc. If not a little FB, then I'd say the LadyBugs hard to beat. I've had several different LadyBugs including the SS model, but the only one I kept is the LadyBug 3 Salt. Great little knife that I don't have to worry about.

Of course, a little SAK would work great, too. I did carry one with the pen in it for a while that worked well.
