Keychain knife

I think I might have a virus. I have this strange need to buy a new knife every week. I find myself looking for an excuse/need for another one. Now I'm sure I need to replace my crappy Wal-Mart keychain lockblade with something more usuable. This there any good sites that sell a small keychain version of a good lockblade? Something to pop open boxes and plastic box bands. Something that the controller is not going to go freaky when he walks out of this office. I don't think price is not an issue on this one.

get a SOG microdot, it is small with a key chain. I have a larger SOG and it is very high quality

To me, knives and keys do not mix...a personal thing I guess. Why not get a nice little CRKT TI Mirage or KISS to clip to your pocket?

Maybe Kits little F4 neck knife?

Ladybug? Or, does Gerber still make that mini-LST or whatever they're called? Only about an inch long closed... nobody could get hinky 'bout that, eh? Kinda cute, actually, got a yellow one around here somewhere.

Or, what about a Cricket clipped to the ring, yer shirtpocket, watchband, etc. Not scary looking but looks like it would pop a mean box-band.

Well, I like to have two options in my key chain

I'm going to second Glockman's suggestion for a CS Tuff-Lite.

I have the clip point version (they also have a tanto as well) and I have carried for about 7 months (I think) on my key chain, in my pocket, and the blade and handle hardly have a scratch!!

This little knife is perfect for the keychain. Just the right size. It's blade is made from AUS 8A with Zytel scales. It is a lockback and it locks up with a very impressive solid snap. Very nice!!!

Even if you don't like CS or this style knife I would still give it a try for the keychain. It's simply perfect for this role.

Check out the CS Tuff Lite Clip Point here @1SKS

well, not strictly a knife, but what about a Leatherman Micra? I use mine every day. The scissors are quite useful, and tough enough that i rarely find myself using the little blade. Also very utilitarian/ non-threatening, though Vampire Gerbil might disagree...

Because then I would look like I am ready to go postal because I've been working 7 days a week, and I am getting freaking tired of trying to keep all my accounts straight and if my boss says one more....Ok just kidding. I need a wimpy, casual functional knife. A keychain knife is "cute little knife". Personally, I would like to take my 11" bayo stiletto in but I don't think they would understand.

Raptor: Check out an excerpt from 1sks's description of the tough lite:

"The Tough Lite's, wide, 13/4" long blades are fashioned from AUS 8A Stainless steel, honed to razor sharpness and ready for use. Quality counts, and we know of no other company using such a high grade stainless steel in a pocket knife. " I read that three times to make sure they were actually saying what i thought they were saying <g>

pjenkins00,
That statement sounds a little more like one from Mr. Lynn Thompson (of CS fame) than that of 1SKS.
I could be wrong here but this reminds me alot of CS's cataloque propaganda.

I have caried the SOG microdot for several years and it's airline friendly.

Geraldo -- your trousers must have awfully damn big trousers. Do you ever find it uncomfortable carrying the balisong open like that?

I too noticed the language in 1SKS'site re the steel in the CS. But, then I checked out the Microdot -- 440A -- and the Ladybug -- AUS6. Made me wonder if maybe Spark or Mike were partaking of the grape when writing that text? Maybe overly inspired by Mr. T's flowery boisterous language?

I may start a thread on this sometime, but why is it that when other companies -- ie Spyderco and Cold Steel -- use AUS6, the steel snobs seem to mainly keep quiet, but when CRKT is mentioned, at least a dozen squawks about hardened cheese, crap steel, etc seem to automaticlly pop up? I mean CS uses AUS6 on their Trailmaster for crying out loud.

All 3 look like interesting knives to me.

Raptor, you may very well be right; i just found it slightly amusing, cuz there are such better stainless steels.
