Keychain Knives?

i've decided that i'm going to put together a super keychain! And by that i mean just a bunch of useful tools on it. I'm about to order a quark mini 123 and now i'm looking for a knife.

Two that I like:
Boker Keycom- small enough to easily fit on a keychain, yet it has a functional pocket clip as well.
Spyderco ladybug

These are nice, but they sacrifice blade size for other tools:
SAK Rambler or Classic
Leatherman Micra

There are probably tons more, but that was all I can think of at the moment.

Spyderco Ladybug (virtually weightless, vg10 blade, frn handle)
Spyderco Cricket (stainless steel handle, vg10 wide blade, super functional grind)
Buck Metro (bottle opener plus knife, there's also a model with an led light).

Personally, I think the ladybug is hard to beat for a keychain knife. It cuts far beyond its size and is offered in different colored frn and stainless steel.

I used to have a sog micron, but have recently switched back to my cold steel mini pal. I like being able to pull the knife free of my key chain.

I used to buy kechain knives and had:

  • SOG Micron
  • Spyderco Ladybug
  • Spyderco Jester
  • Spyderco Spin
  • Leatherman Micra
  • Imperial (?)
  • Victorninox Classic

The now discontinued Jester is probably the best of the bunch, but I ultimately got tired of trying to cut things with my keys jangling. Plus, the blades were too small to be all that useful. Since a more usable knife doesn't take up much more room in my pocket, I've been going with that ever since.

+1 on the Boker Keycom. It's hardly there and is very functional. It has held up well in a very tough environment on finishes.

My girlfriend uses a Spyderco Dragonfly on her keychain. It's very light in FRN, and it's about the smallest knife I've seen that you can get a proper four finger grip on. I have Dragonflies in stainless steel and G10, but I carry them in my jeans watch pocket rather than on my keychain. As was already mentioned, cutting stuff with your keys flopping around doesn't work so well. If you want something smaller than the Dragonfly, the SAK Classic is a classic.

I use a Spyderco ladybug, a good simple blade that great for opening boxes and the hard to open pork scratchings down the pub.

i'm not sure which Spyderco i have. it's approximately one inch closed, handles are stainless, it has a lock for show (don't need it to close it), fully serrated blade, bought almost 20 years ago.

apparently, it's no longer available, because when my dad was carrying it, he showed it to a knife dealer who started offering all sorts of (expensive) stuff for trade.

i like it, but it's really only good for cutting tape on boxes and unlocking interior doors.

Small spyderco, or a benchmite if you can find one because I think they don't make 'em anymore but I could be wrong.

i use the spyderco ladybug, small, lightweight, sharp. if you want something a bit cheaper you could go with the spyderco bug or honeybee.

I find it strange no one has mentioned the "KeyHawk". Why it's an amazing "Keyring Utility Tool"!!!;)

Great idea. What else are you putting on the keychain?

Just to clarify, when you say "knife" do you mean like a single blade folder? Or are you open to little multi tools and SAKs?

I currently carry a Vic classic on my keys and I love it.
