keycom cracked

I got a keycom in from knifecenter today, and I saw a crack in the frame, leading from the end of the lock cutout toward the last assembly screw. On the inside surface, the crack is visible for only may a 1/8".

Anyway, I have emailed knifecenter a few times in the past for some general stuff, and they leave a little to be desired in communication (though my orders always arrive quickly, this was no different) So, my question is, should I go through knifecenter for an exchange, or ship to Boker?

I really like this little knife, it's awesome that such a tiny thing has a pocket clip, and the design handles really well in hand. Even with the cracked frame, lock up is pretty good (for now)

I would just keep it.
It seems fine and that crack shouldnt effect preformance in such a small knife.

I would ask you to send it in to us, that is not a good thing to have on the knife.
Looks like it was a case of a stress riser.
Please send it in, and I will take care of it.

mac, I also don't think there would be any catastrophic failure due to any severe cutting. The knife just isn't made for hard use, it's too small. But, the crack has traveled most of the way to the end of the frame without being used. Every time it locks/unlocks, the stresses of flexing the metal can cause it to spread just a little at a time. Eventually, the lockbar would probably just fall off when I'm unlocking the blade.

I'm really not a fan of frame/liner locks, and this is one reason I don't like the design. But, the keycom is so tiny, that if there isn't a pre-existing condition such as this, I can't expect the lock to fail otherwise.

Terry, I'll get it sent off, probably on Friday. Thanks

Hello HH,
Got your knife today, and am getting a replacement done for you.
Thanks, Terry

Awesome service. Picked up a Subcom F in black this morning. My only gripe with Boker is that when ordering direct from them <http://www.boker.de/us/>, the order confirmation is received w/o an actual order reference number. In any event, might pick up another Subcom F in camo for good measure :) .
