Whenever I goto KFC or chicken treat or whatever , I keep the little moist towelette things they give me , I put them in my pack. They come in handy for cleaning my hands anytime I need to on the go and they cost me nothing . Anyone else keep them ? There's also the book of Eli where he uses them in lieu of soap or a shower , but I'm not really keen to try that unless I really have too. Don't get me wrong , getting my hands or me or my gear dirty is not a problem while I'm out and about , I just find these handy to have in my pack whenever I'm in the bush or on a hike.

i have some extras that i keep in my desk at work. i just went to use one and it was all dried up... guess it could still be useful to help start a fire if it was dried out in the field. ;)

My wife is an RN and after every shift, she ends up with leftover sterile alcohol pads that she uses to sterilize the skin before sticking an IV...they are the same size as those KFC wipes, but more potent, I guess. In any case...2-3 pads after some shifts for 5 years now means that I have a good size stash of these in my packs.

Heck yeah, they're very handy, and super efficient in terms of bulk and weight. Some even smell nice, like lemon.

The plain sterile hi-proof wipes are good to have in a 1st aid kit anyway. Never tried it, but I imagine they would make decent tinder, too.

Yes, all my bags have them. When a nurse retired from my work place he left a lot of minor supplies in closeted boxes, that I helped myself to before they were tossed. I got a ton of various bandages, alc. swabs, you name it.

I go an extra step and also get all the condiments I can get my hands on. ketchp mayo or hot sauce go a long way while camping or backpacking.
