I have been thinking about things over the last couple of weeks and have decided on a couple new policies for the upcoming year. Ive thought about not taking orders at all but in the end I don't want to do that. So...Ive decided to do a monthly order list like some other makers do. I don't want anyone waiting forever for a knife, a month at the longest. Ill be taking 8 orders a month to start off with and see how it goes. I might raise that in the future. Its first come first serve and you can get in by posting in each months thread. Im sure I will make more than 8 but I will post these up on the forum for sale. The reasoning for doing this is so that I can preorder supplies for each months batch and not waste precious time having to order additional supplies on a whim. That and I also have a full time job and I never know when Im going to have to work additional hours. I hope this doesn't deter anyone from ordering, I just need a better business plan for the upcoming year to keep me sane!
All you have to do is post in each months thread what you want. I will cut it off on the 21st of every month so I can order supplies. If I don't have eight Ill just make what I want. All orders are limited to my basic models...but if you want something Ive made in the past or even a new design just shoot me a PM and Ill see what I can do. I will be using wood only for scales from the stock I have. If you want something special in woods I can see what I can get. Obviously stabilized items and or burls are much more expensive and there might be a slight upcharge for those items. Liners will be available as I try and keep many different colors on hand all the time. I will keep each months thread up until the knives have been shipped, than Ill take it down so there won't be a ton of stickys. Money is not required until the knife has been handled and is almost ready to ship. Ill keep everyone informed of the process.
I hope this works out for everyone, it will give me more structure and I will be able to see how many I can actually do in a month. If you want to order for January please do so now. I know its short notice on Januarys orders but I will be cutting those off on the 1st.
