Okay, I couldn't find the original thread, so I'm starting a new one.
I recieved the Spyderco Khalsa last Thursday, and I've been trying to carry it every day.
First impressions: Gee, this thing looks weird. Wow! It sure is sharp. Seems a little small in my hand.
It is rather strange to behold, but does have it's appeal. I think my hands are just a little too large to get a comfortable grip on it. It is quite easy to open, though. With a little practice I figured out an easy enough hold on it, but still can't quite get the hang of it. It actually feels much better in a reverse grip, and I suspect that may be it's original intended use. If you hold it just so, the exaggerated hump would make a great "catch" in those Martial arts where you use holds, and such, but I don't know enough about that subject to make much sense.
This is definitely a specialty function knife, and most would probably not like it for every day carry. It came with a very sharp edge, (looks to have been sharpened by the last person) and it holds it quite well.
I never really liked the way it carried in the pocket,(tip down) as it just takes up so much room, and gets in the way when fishing for change.
Overall, I'd rate it as great fit and finish, but not so great ergonomics. If you know, and are comfortable with it's intended use, I'm sure you would enjoy it well enough, but it's just not for me.
I'll have it in the mail for the next guy, by Wednesday.
