Ever since spotting a Khukri in a surplus store some time ago I wanted to get one. A real one like the Himalayan Imports ones that is, not the overly ornate, crappy chrome plated ones you see in some pawn shops or ebay.

For my first Khukri from H.I I figured maybe the 15 inch 18 ounce villager baby Ganga Ram by Bura would be a good choice. :)

Now for the second, third, forth...Khukri

I got that Khuki feeling again!!!:D

Thank you Yangdu for putting up with my newbie lack of etiquette as far as ordering from the forums :o

Yep, the BGRS 17"-18" model is one of my favorites.
A 15" 18 ounce BGRS would be light and short for this ol' ndn.

Welcome to the Cantina/Psycho Ward
Ric0shay!!!!;) :D

Good to see someone picked up the old line I used to use here in my sig.;)

Another one was what a dayumed Yankee University was teachin a daughter about making sweet cornbread. :barf:

My first khuk was a 15" BAS that weighed somewheres around 22 oz.

I thought it too little.

Welcome, RicOshay.

For my uses khuks in that range make great camp knives or day hike blades.

Welcome! These two guys are the ones to listen to. My first was a Chiruwa AK.

Thanks for the welcome aboard folks. The Khukri will be a welcome change while working in the back yard. I have used a Cold Steel CW sword in the past and neighbors no longer chat over the fence "Home Improvement style". The Sword also takes an eternity to sharpen after pruning the trees.

Maybe number two will be an AK in about 18 or so inches...Then again my jaw drops every time I catch a glims of that sultry Sirupati. Beconing me with it's come hither look :D lol

Don't overlook the "little" 12 - 15" sirupatis. They are more useful than you might think. I just got a 13" Kumar katunje which is now my absolute favorite. :D Until the next one...
