hello all, i just joined site mainly for himalayan imports. i havnt been into knives much my life and 1/2 yr ago i found out about the khukri and fell in love. i bought my first 2 from another company. the first was a 15" oal jungle trainer and wasnt that good, the heat treat seems horrible on that one and the handle broke rather quickly. im in the process of putting a g10 handle on it. the second i got was a 25"oal sacrificial blade Panwal Bhojpure. this one is a lot better, heat treat is a lot better. i was splitting pecan 6" diameter in 1 hit

then i got my first himalayan imports CAK and i love it. the workmanship is in another class, i love the fullers, which the other guys dont have. himip has a better warranty.

i already put downpayment but have to wait til begenning of next yr, but i have a SUPER CAK/ BONECUTTER in the 20" oal. i cant wait

ps how do i post pics? i dont see an option. do you have to have a certain # of post?

I use the little square image icon in the posting window. I post the pictures elsewhere on the web and then link to their url with the image tool.

cool thanks for reply, but it would be harder for me to do that cause i dont have any flicker/facebook/ect type accounts. i usually download from my pc.

Welcome bladeright!
Good to see you found us ! We always look forward to new friends.
In order to upload to the bladeforums site, you must have a paid membership. Otherwise it's pretty easy to use a photobucket account to upload pictures here. A Basic bladeforums membership is only $10, which provides a limited amount of attachments and helps to keep this site running.

heres a few pics ...

They're not showing for me. Does everyone on the web have permission to see those pictures?

I just tried cutting out one of the url's and pasting it into my web browser address bar. All I got was a blank screen.

can anyone help with kami marks

photobucket is free

flickr is often free :>

creating multiple accounts works too

etc

there are various FAQs for learning to post pictures as well, using plain URLs, and most of those sights offer image markup as part of the deal

Nice stuff, Bladeright.
Good place to enter the forums too, welcome.
I like Kukris too, as well, it seems as the other folks that seem to like them as well...
Kukri fans are good folk.

I've never seen this before. Full tang Siru? Doesn't look like HI to me.

its not a HI, i got it from another manufacturer in nepal. i got it as a 25"oal sacrificial blade Panwal Bhojpure pd 120 shipped, i guess that is similar to siru?.
this is the spec i bought
Blade Size and Type : 18 inch (45cm) and Unpolished blade Handmade.
Handle Size and Type : 6 inch (15cm) and Full Tang blade handle.
Overall length : 25 inches.
Thickness Of blade(Belly): 12mm.
Spine: 2.5 inch.
Handle Circumference : 5.5 inch.
Material Used : Highly Graded Carbon Steel (car & jeep leaf spring, 5160) for blade. Refine water Buffalo lather for Scabbard (outside), Rosewood for the handle, Pinewood for Scabbard (inside), White metal and Laha (Nepali Traditional Glue).
Net Weight : 1650 (66 Oz. Approx).
Hardness of steel : spine=22-25 RC, belly=45-46 RC, edge=54-55 RC.
Complementary : Certificate of Guarantee, Tag, Wrapping Lokta Paper, RGR Cap Bazz, National Flag of Nepal.
Place of Origin : Dharan (Eastern part of Nepal).

the only HI i have is my CAK and begenning of next yr i will have a 20" bonecutter/super cak, then getting a sword, most likely the tarwar

so far i personally like the feel of the HI blades, i also like the fact the kami marks the blade to know who made it
