I have a question about how u use a khukri? Do u chop with it like a ax, or slice with it like a knife? Or do u do a combination like with a machete? Any knowledgeble people inhere. I cleared some bushes in my garden with my bolo, and thought it was quit easy to chop thru the branches, some where green, and about a thumb thick. When i tried with the khukri it didn't seem to be all that easy. I guess its my technique i have a problem with.

First off there aer many kinds of khukuris, some are quite slim and slender and act much like machetes or long knives, some are very thick and much heavier and stouter and act like axes, so the technique changes with the blade. For the lighter ones its a lot more speed, with the heavier ones you tend to concentrate on more power. With both there is usually benefit from drawing the blade during the cut.

yup.
the main thing to keep in mind is the curve (recurve) of the blade. it's designed so there's quite a bit more weight toward the tip, and so that a drawing motion will help push the cutting edge into the material.
peace.

Remember also that a machete is pretty much optimal for very light vegetation, especially when it's still green. Long, thin, very narrow edge bevel all leads to very high performance on sub-1 inch stuff, especially when the target is soft and the blade is freshly sharpened. The thicker heavier khukuri's outperform a machete on large stuff, where the blade is too light to effectively chop, and so thin that it just gets stuck in the wood when you give a solid hit.

Yes i indeed think that that was the "problem". thank u guys for the imput, greetz :)
