I just got a very nice-looking email from khukri rum. Anybody else get something similar? I think they might've cribbed the forum emails. Either that, or it's an extraordinary coincidence.

Well, heck - just head on over to the Nepal Distilleries website ;)

Here's a blurb about it from the Cult Drinks site over in the UK:

"This rum's enigmatic dark color offers an elegant contrast against the shimmering gold foil of the bottles label. The aroma, as expected, is robust and generous, broadcasting signals of wet oak, dry fruits and caramel. Khukri Rum expands nicely in the palate as well, reinforcing the olfactory notion of a well-rounded rum. Hints of butterscotch, licorice and nutmeg can be derived from its complexion. Not surprisingly, considering its origins in Nepal, this rum begs to be consumed with hot water or in any hot beverage. This is an outstanding rum from a distillery founded in 1959, the oldest distillery in Nepal."

I got an email a year or two ago from a Khukuri Rum big boy thanking me for my help in getting them known in the West. He especially liked my story of the Narita incident. I'm sure they monitor the HI forum and pick out a few of us for email notices.

I got an email from them too,it said that Khukri rum is now available in the UK at http://www.cultdrinks.co.uk/. They only ship in the UK according to the site. Uncle Bill's Narita story is here towards the bottom of the page.
Regards,
Greg
