What do you guys use?

I've been using a pegboard with hooks...not really for display, but to organize and keep track of projects.

I'm reminded of this after seeing a few display suggestions here:

There are others whom I cannot remember....post links and I'll add them to this list..

What other ideas you got?

The good ole, 'Wall of Khuks"; what house could be without one?

I fall into the category of being too paranoid to display weapons intruders could use against me.

what about the ole backcountry standby...shotgun on the mantle, over the door, etc.?

:D :p

My limitations for display come with 10 fingers and little curious minds....higher up is a must. Why can't we have Khuk-Locks like guns have trigger locks....?

Somebody here has a towel-rack-ish display system....can't remember who...

I know what you mean about the fingers. Ten little ones grabbed a 20" AK Villager once and I almost had a heart attack.

Sweet has a rack for all his swords and posted a pic, and I made a rack out of large dowels on poplar to drop in about 15 knives or so alongside my display case. Ferguson made the nicest one so far I think, which as I recall was a long oak rack with dowels on 3" centers, which I am in the process of copying.

Nice of you to say Norm. 3" centers works for most of the khukuris, but you might want to put a few in at 3 1/2 or 3 3/4" for your YCS or large handled pieces. (I didn't think about that) I was actually building the rack for swords but it didn't work that well, so it was an accidental khuk storage rack. :o

Very nice, Steve. I have something similar but I pretty much ran out of room on it.

I took one of Dean's many valuable suggestions to heart and picked up one of those shoe tree thingies. You wouldn't think that a potmetal hanger would support the weight of ten or so khukuris but that's just what this one is doing. It's ugly but it keeps them out of the closet.

One time Walmart was having a sale on three-rifle gunracks for $20. I picked one up, stained and oiled it, drove some hooks into the base of it, and it now holds a couple of swords and khuks.

Nails driven into the side of the workbench are the tried and true method for me. Inexpensive, efficient, and effective. I've since made it a habit to hang them from the belt loops whenever possible and not the little loop on top of that; those can and do untie themselves and if one's foot is under one of them when this happens, it can be painful. (Trust me. I know.)

Yep, that's the one! I'll move 4 or 5 over to 3.75" to allow for that spacing for the YCS's and Dui Chirras. I was just using a forstner bit to bore the holes, so I'm glad this came up as I wouldn't have thought of that either before I was committed.

Thanks,

Norm

Mine is a nice tactical black from Lowe's...

Doubles as my car wash bucket.

I keep mine "displayed" in the cupboard of my drysink where I put my keys, wallet, mail, etc.

Not that my wife minds my little hobby, but out of sight, out of mind. :D
