We're im the process of selling our house and we have a large lot with about 40-50 trees. Wind happens, trees and branches fall down, you get the picture. One pine fell down not too long ago and I had to de-limb it then chopped it up with an axe. I used my old village model 14" or so HI khuk and it was awesome! I'd forgotten how much fun it is to cut stuff with these things! Talk about knives that will be in use for longer than you live! Anyway, I own several village model regular sized khuks and a Sirupati. They are all different, all well built and they are fun and effective to use. If you're on the fence about a Himalayan Imports village model, don't be. Buy, prepare to get addicted, and find someone with property with trees you can go on the weekends and let the khuk work its magic! :D

The Villagers are a lot of blade for a little bit of money. Not too many here will dispute that I think. :)

I've said it before,
but if I had only 1 khuk for the rest of my life
it would likely be the pug-ugly 14" village model
inspected & sold by HI
(not even an HI villager)
Light, thin, good chopper for size, good slicer.

My 2nd of 2 would be a thicker HI model about 18-in length
& suitable for chopping.
A Villager version best.
Villager style most excellent of all worlds.
