Hi guys, I wanted to let you know that a few of us at the H.I. Cantina are planning a campout for Late April/early May here in Utah and anyone that wants to join us is welcome. Here's the thread over there where we are talking about it: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=610209

To sum it up: We are going to be camping up Spring City canyon here in Central Utah for 3 days and 2 nights at the Spring City Campground aka The Mud Hole. It got that name because some parts of the camp ground can be muddy from all the natural springs in the area. But it's still a great place to camp. We plan to do some group meals in the Dutch Oven including Elk Chili and Corn bread, Cobbler, BBQ'd chicken or steak and Dutch Oven potatoes. There will be Hiking, knife related activities, shooting and other camping things.

There is a shooting range just out side of town on the Canyon road so we plan on going there for a few hours one day for some shooting. We will be camping in the National Forest but since the shooting range is so close (15 minutes or so from the campsite) we figured that we should just drive there instead of trying to find a suiteble place up the canyon.

I know it's a while away but figure if we announce it now there is a chance that more people will come. Anyone from Bladeforums and their familys are welcome. As we get closer to it, I'll post maps an directions. Feel free to post or email me if you are interested or have any questions. Thanks,

Heber

A friend emailed me and told me that I didn't give a good idea of where Spring City is which would help if people are to deside to come or not so here goes:

If you take the Spring City zip code 84662 and put it into your favorite map program (mapquest, google...) you can get good driving directions and an idea of where it is and how far the drive is. It's a small farming town in the center of Utah with about 1,000 people thats nestled against the Manti-Lasal National Forest. The Camp ground is about 6.5 to 7 miles from the center of town up the canyon. It's a dirt road but well maintained in the Spring and Summer months.

The town is at an elivation of about 5.600 feet above sea level. It's the High desert but very green considering... A very agracultural area thats very close to camping, hiking, fishing, boating, 4x4 trails, rock climbing, and other fun out door activities. I have pictures of the surrounding area in the other thread I linked to earlier. Hope that helps and I hope we can get some other BF.com friends to come.
