Khukuri Heaven just happens to have an address in Reno, Nevada! It might not have a fancy showroom floor, give you 0% financing for 60 months, or throw in a free set of Ginsu II steak knives if you hurry and act within the next 10 minutes, but I don't think you'll disagree with me if you are ever fortunate enough to see Himalayan Imports up close and personal.

H.I.s inner sanctum is not large at all. In fact, it's even smaller than my blacksmith shop here in Corn Patch. But it's adequate enough for the Boss Lady to get business done.

There's much more to H.I. than just it's inner sanctum sanctorium, and even more than what I'll mention in this post. There are khuks that are magnificent, others may not even make it to the DOTD and are in serious need of some TLC. You want a khuk...maybe, (well, I know it for a fact) a Zombie Killer from the book on the HI website, wavy blade and all, by a famous maker to boot? H.I. just may have it on hand.

You want a blade you've never heard of or even seen? I'll just bet you that it might be laying in a pile, on a box, leaning in a corner, in box, basket, or from a nail on the wall! Didn't see it offered on the DOTD? Ask. Simply ask to find out what is what is on hand. It might even help if you gave the little lady a price range that you can afford because there are khuks of just about any quality level you can imagine. Mrs. Martino will probably work with you and you both will come out ahead.

The next two shots are of Kami Sherpa and a few of his factory's products awaiting adoption. Look close, Grasshopper....what you want just may be lying here....

Joe is holding a special knife that originally came from Vietnam. If you be good boys & girls, you just may see replicated one day. It is one very beautiful, but very wicked knife. The spine on this thing is so incredibly thick, you can hardly believe your eyes!

Joe is holding an extremely well executed ceremonial khukuri in this pic. He was going to show you how it works, but we had just ran out of water buffaloes moments before and I wasn't gonna moo in any way, shape or form for him, so you'll need to use your imagination.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. H.I. is blades from Nepal, backed by the best warranty in the business, and they're just waiting to hear from you.

Nice sales pitch Bookie! I've seen HI up close, and you are absolutely right on all accounts. I do believe Mr. B. has seen the original "Khukuri Shed" before this one. I can't wait to have the honor of meeting auntie and her family/friends again, and holding all that steel, oh my!

Bawanna did show me the original shed. I recognized it right away. Kinda like making a pilgrimage to Mecca, or something along that nature...

Very good analogy. Pilgrimage to Mecca. We were also in close proximity to Uncles pride and joy El Camino under it's cover.

But despite how badly I wanted to, we did not touch or lift the cover in was under. Might have been a Raiders of the Lost Ark moment. I don't even know what color it is.

Just being close to it kind of increased my heart rate and made the hair on my arms kind of stand at attention.

Perhaps Yangdu will one day take a picture when it's uncovered.

I believe it's blue

Where is that on the website? Are you talking about Monster Hunter International? Larry is a friend, and gets knife advice from me. The 25" Chitlangi Owen replaces his original AK with, Larry bought from me. I have a picture of me with Tamara Keel, holding it.

John

Hi John, You are correct about the title and it's not on the website, it's in the Cantina in a sticky. I have brain cramps once in a while. Would love to see that photo of you and the Chitlangi.

L to R

Now deceased friend, Byron Quick, Kaylee, Tamara, me. Upon review, the Chitlangi is 21". You can't tell from the angle, but Kaylee is holding the 19" Chitlangi I used while stationed at Fort Lewis.

Great pix and post, thank you for sharing

Thanks for the pic, John. Looks everyone is having fun. I used to haul the "Electric Strawberry" almost every day for a few months.

No problem. We had some great times at that cabin, hunting or target practice during the day and shooting the bull at night inside, or out around the fire.

Now the land is sold, the cabin burned, and Byron is dead. Life is change, but sometimes it just feels like learning to deal with loss.

I frequently miss Washington State, but 1-50 moved to Alaska several years ago, anyway. I used to want to move to AK one day, but I think all the snow on my first deployment to Afghanistan may have killed that desire.
