While going thru thread Your favourite large blade for field use? in Asian and Australian Knife Community one the fellow forumites named Santi from Thailand mentioned ...
... And another popular blade: imagine fixed blade that sports a Sifu blade, only bigger and more recurved, approx 8-12", this is good for both cutting and skinning. Lots of local hunters carry this E-Nep. Lots of camper carry this, too
... I think it has the shape of a Khukuri ... of course without Cho!

... and I guess the CS Gurkha Kukri which is without Cho in a way is an E-Nep! Please do correct me if I'm wrong!

... Kopesh ... Falcata ... Machaera ... Khukuri ... now E-Nep ... what else?

NEPAL HO!

About a month ago on Ebay I saw a khukuri passed off as a Phillipine bolo. However with the cho and sword of shiva it was undoubtably a khukuri.

There seems to be a lot of variation among bolos and some of them have a khukurilike forward curve.

Mohd I went over to the Asian & Australian Forum to look around.
I found some interesting posts there. And I have to commend you that you carry your HI Consience Officers duty there as well as here.
You're a good man and I am Proud to know you and have you as a
Brother.
I also liked the encouragement that you gave the young guys there that would like to make their countries knives well known as good tools and for sale in other countries And to keep Their Ancient Arts Alive.
I for one would definitely be interested in a Golok and the different Parangs and some of the other knives that were
mentioned.
It wouldn't be competition for Uncle Bill and HI and I am sure that he would like to see the people of other poor countries like Nepal succeed the same as H.I. and BirGhorka has succeeded.
You are indeed one of the "Peacekeepers" that somehow seems to find their way here to this forum.
And being a "Peacekeeper" is much more than what the word seems to describe.
And this is all something that I am going to have to ponder over more thoughtfully and in different ways than I ever have.

I saw where you had posted some exotic woods and by erasing part of the URL I was able to find the Website that had them all.
I think it might be interesting information to post in this thread if you will and it isn't too much trouble please.

I also found the website where the khukuri look alikes made very interesting as well. Not much different than the kamis shop except the forge is built off the ground in a crucible looking sort of an affair.
The hammering of the hot steel s pretty much the same all over the world where there's no electricity.

Thanks for such an excellent post that has opened my mind to so many other possibilites!!!!

The CS LTC actually looks more like the E-nep. It is nowhere as thick as the guy describes it or my hammering ability is very low.

Those are neat knives. Thanks for posting the link. Is the plant life similar in Nepal and Thailand?

This brings up the opportunity I've been waiting for.

About a month and a half ago, I was saddened by James A. Keating ( KF Riddle of Steel forum ) being hunted down like an elderly lion by a pack of hyenas. The hyenas won, and the worst of them were a bunch from bladeforums.

So what should happen but my brother Mohd puts up a post on " HI Conscience Officer salutes US Humanitarian ... ". A reference to Ramsey Clark and others going to Iraq and finding how devastated the children of the area were.

I was afraid that some SOB would clobber Mohd for saying something unpopular but true.

I wanted to say something then, but I wanted also to see the post fade out and die off. I knew that the oldtimers in this forum would take Mohd's remark as he'd meant it. But we've had such a growth on the forum I was afraid someone who hadn't been around that long might not.

I was wrong, thank God. I see in Mohd an elder who has let himself become childlike in simplicity. Who has started to live in the wonder and awe of a child, and in doing so has left himself wide open to backstabbing and double dealing.

I want to apologise to the newer forumites for not realizing that you were the same people who've always come here. And I want Mohd to know the reason for my silence wasn't that I was offended, it was because I was tiptoing around watching his back. Thank God that wasn't necessary.

PS - hey, someone has to watch over the peacemakers and keep them from being distracted as they go about their way

To Mohd et al,

Went to the post that you mentioned. Was fascinated enought to email the Blades Forumite that posted the picture, requesting the possibilites of acquiring an "e-nep"?

From his reply, "Santi S" is a very nice and well spoken individual. While not promising me that he could deliver, he stated that he would at least look for one. I think I like those guys at the Asian & Australian Forum!

Thank you, Mohd, for introducing me to another aspect of this ever closer world. While I will always be proud of what I am, it's nice to find kindred spirits wherever I may travel!!

Ahaaa!. . .This is exaclty what I want . . .

I'll keep you posted when I got my hand on one of those rough 'n' rusty E-Nep.

TTYTT all guys in Asian & Australian Forum! are "very nice and well spoken individual."

The 1873 Army P frame Colt was known as the peace maker. I have a few.
Things don`t change much, do they?

I don`t feel under gunned packing a SAA. They ride comfortable on your hip. Especialy a horseback. I don`t plan on a lot of reloading absent a combat situation. I wear one occasionaly for old times sake.

The law is on the side of the winner. You don`t want that lying SOB on the witness stand.

It wouldn`t do losers much good anyway.

I ordered a Sebenza. Curiosity got the best of me.

I want to know what the fuss is all about.

One day the village teacher told Hodja that he had decided to travel across the land to seek additional knowledge. When the young teacher asked him what kind of people he should look for, Hodja recalled some wise words he had once heard in the bazaar.
 • He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool. Shun him.
 • He who knows not and knows that he knows not is a child. Teach him.
 • He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep. Awaken him.
 • He who knows and knows that he knows is wise. Follow him.
Hodja paused for a moment and than continued,
 • But you know how difficult it is, my son, to be sure that the one who knows and knows that he knows really knows.
