The area we were at when we cut the log is off Mount Rose Hiway in the forest along Galina Creek. The tree limb we cut was a 6 inch thick Pondarosa Pine that had broke off during the winter.
Enjoy the pictures!

I carry those Khukuris during my hiking trip.
Tomorrow I will giveaway those Khuris to the winners, stay tuned.

The "cuts" in the wood look very precise, and clean. My chopping is chunky and uneven by comparrison. Very nice pics, thank you.

I noticed that, too.

My chopping skills are pretty inferior by comparison. I need to work on that.

probably a dumb question ... but how comfortable is the handles on those knives when you are chopping ?

Nice one Yangdu! Great pics!

Those pine cones light easy & burn down to charcoal for cooking on real fast, does great lamb, had to do it in a french forest once, a few years ago.

The clean chop may be due to not using excessive force, and a good eye.

It is more difficult than it would appear to relax and not swing too hard.
When you want it done fast, you pay.
