Khukuri Screen Saver?

No but I'll bet there are a few who could make one.

Now wouldn't that be nice! Wouldn't mind paying a nominal fee for one. Any ideas, Guys? Crossed Khukuri's Gorka with Khuks
Dancing Khukuri's Various styles of Khukuri's, moving from style to another? Wish I had the expertise!

I thought the dancing Bruise was great.
Khuks, little dancing guys and strategically placed flowers.
Kinda like Welcome to the Jungle on acid.  :p

Rusty - you really impress me sometimes. I consider myself an art nerd (by profession) and most folks wouldn't pick up on your comment. Yet, you also know your history, your guns, your knives, and seem to be well read.

What's the story here?

You some kind of Renaissance man or something?

And some of us are just backwoods red necks from West Kentucky. :p

More than a Renaissance man. I'm a schmuck with internet access.

( There, that sounds simpler and better than the previous answer. )

BTW - why not a screensaver of the best cartoons from the Phantom of the Khukura?

Pax/Bill the Cat and others should be able to bask in the glory of a couple dozen or more hilarious highlights. Ought to be a hit with those who were fans of THE FAR SIDE.

As a matter of fact it is time for my medications. Why do you ask?

Not exactly what I had in mind.;) Rum is Mai Tai is OK, but usually find it too sweet. Prefer Bourbon or VO or Good cold beer on a nice hot day!:D
Couldn't preview the screensaver without downloading. Looked like it was more advertisement on the Rum than a good picture of the Khukuri, if the screensaver looked like the one illustration at the bottom of the picture. Thanks anyway.

Ics37, are you refering to the type of screen saver on which different images from a set of pictures fade in and out as they display?

By the way, what do you have your screen area set at, 800x600 or 1024x768?

800 x 600 True Color ( 24 bit)

Was thinking about a screen saver that would rotate styles/pictures of Khukuri's . Like a slide show from one to the other.

I have several screen savers that do that. F4 Acft slide show from one angle to another, different views of the F4

A USAF one with an Acft in the background with rank insignas floating around the screen.

Lighthouse with slide show from one light house to another

USA 1 This one is the Flag Waving in the Breeze, than Flags cascading all over the place, Also has a MEAN looking Eagle that comes up. Pretty Cool!

A few others, but those are my favorites, unless I can find a Khukuri

I've just done some remembering... A while back Foxjaw did an excellent (free) piece of composite artwork for the HI website. Unfortunately, it included an image of a private collector's khukuri that was copywrited (at least as part of the HI FAQ). The person who own's the copyright was legally obligated to fight any unauthorized usage so as NOT to set a precedent that it's OK to do such things. Therefore this artwork caused a slight ripple in the pond :(

There was even talk of an online monthly HI (girlie :) )calendar, but it never really happened :(

The software to create a screen saver is readily available and easy to use, but... all/most of the cool khukuri pictures around, belong to Uncle Bill, are copyrighted by Howard Wallace's FAQ, or are privately owned. Therefore we need to ask their permission to use them, or perhaps some of the Forumites might 'donate' a few quality images they have?

Get some of Bill Marsh's pics of his old stuff - they're top notch.

Hadn't thought about 'Copy Right ' legalities.

Will have to give it some more thought and research.
