Hello from Khukuri newbie
The front cover of a UK based magazine called 'Combat and Survival', February 2000 issue, shows a picture of a Gorkha soldier serving in the Royal Army's operation Langar (East Timor). An interesting photo for those who are interested in modern Gorkha soldier field dress. Unfortunately, the Khukuri image is partially covered with advertising text. But it is still interesting to see that the Khukuri handle and scabbard are covered with camo cloth, very suitable for modern warfare. The Gorkhas (from the 2nd Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles) completed thier part in the peace keeping missions, and left East Tomor in December last year.
I don't know if I can post the immage here due to copy right problem. But I can send the scanned image to you, Uncle Bill, if you want. the magazine's website is still under construction now.
Best wishes
