Well, I used lemon juice to bring out the hamon on my blade, and it worked great, the only issue is that the lemon juice stained some areas of the blade, and I can't get the stains out. I tryed steel wool and Dawn soap, but no amount of rubbing will get them out! How can I remove these stains? Can I use Flitz? Also, How do I put a nice satin or scratchy finish on the blade, so scratches it gets while wood-chopping won't be as noticable? Thanks all!

I love Nevr-Dull.
Best metal and brass polisher I've ever used.
Wal-Mart has it in the auto section.
Where the car wax is.

Nevr Dull is great, like Grappler said. I also use Mother's wheel and mag polish to both polish out stains as well as a stropping compound for the edge.

You can satin up the finish with fine steel wool or fine sand paper (600 grit is what I like to use).

It depends how deep the etch is. If it doesn't work, the flitz should do the trick:thumbup:

When I was in the U.S.N. the guys would use never dull and fine 0 steel wool ,worked great on everything applied to, mostly the ladder rails that went from deck to deck.

Does that get the metal back to a mirror-ish finish? I accidentally used a bit too much Bar Keeper's Friend getting dried sap off and gave the metal a slight brushed look. :o
