These figures I took from old postings on the other forum, so that everybody could get an idea as to weights of the khukuries. Not all inclusive of course. Again, the following is from Bill M., Jay and Will, I think:

For anyone interested, here are the weights of my Khukuris in lbs. Alone and in Total Rig. All have Horn Handles.
18th Century 1.58 - 2.28 20 in. Sirupati 1.56 - 2.32 15 in. Ang Khola Engraved 1.58 - 2.06 15 in. Ang Khola 1.56 - 2.12 15 in. Ang Khola 1.56 - 2.12 15 in. Ang Khola 1.66 - 2.22

ang khola A
length = 21 inches
blade width = 2 5/8 in
thickness = 9/16
weight = 3.25 pounds

ang khola B
length = 21 inches
width = 2.75
thickness = 9/16
weight = 3 lbs 5 ounces

ang khola C
length = 22 inches
width = 2.75 in.
thickness = 5/8 in
weight = 3.75 pounds

Finally got the chance to weigh the 18" AKs. I am told the electronic scale I have access to is very accurate.They weigh in at (1.66) LBs. & (1.70) LBs. Total rigs are (2.30) LBs & (2.32) LBs. Bill was real close with 1LB. 10 oz. on the lighter one.

and more

12" Sirupati
thickness= under 3/8 inch
width= 1 1/4 inch
weight= 13 oz
handle 3 1/4 inches (wood)

15" Sirupati
thickness= over 3/8 inch
width= 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 inches
weight= no scale available
handle 4 inches (horn)

Cobalt, --Thanks for posting those weights etc; keeps me up to date on some of my khukuris. The first list starting with the 18th cen. is mine.-- Notice the last 15"AK, wt.1.66 lbs. That one is really close to 1/2" thick, using a tape measure.

Jay, Thanks and thanks again for going to the trouble of originally putting up this info.

Cobalt, that 15 inch Sirupati will come in at about one pound.

Thanks for information. We are getting closer to a real spec sheet.

Uncle Bill

I own Ang Khola C and you can't have it. The extra length is not required but from my experience the extra weight pays dividends in chopping performance.

What can the 800 lb Sayan Model do?

Will

I am still holding my breath on that Salyan but if it comes in close to the specs I gave it should be beautiful and a great performer.

Uncle Bill

Cobalt, I thought you were going to order the 800 lb. model with the Hanuman handle?

Even Will and Cougar are being affected by March Madness. Or is that the Cobalt Khrazies?

Anyway, if the 15" Sirupati comes in at a pound w/o sheath, what does the BAS weigh?

Rusty, I was going to buy it, but Bill won't pay for the shipping. We are at a disagreement on that one.

Rusty, I just weighed the only BAS I have in stock. Knife = 1lb 3 oz. Total rig = 1lb 9 oz.

Cobalt, the shipping is only $8,000. Don't be so cheap.

Uncle Bill

Cobalt my data obsessed friend:

20" Ang Khola 1700 g, really 22"

15" Ang Khola 635 g, how come everyone's bigger than mine?

WWII 16.5" Model 573.8 g, my favorite

BAS 542.3 g, nice knife not sure where it fits yet

15" Ang Khola 650.1 g, chops a wee bit better than 635 g one

WWII 17.5" Model 689.4 g, new favorite?

Will

Thanks for the info, Will. I think Cobalt is the fellow who is going to come up with the spec. sheet.
