I want to buy another Khukuri and want to know from people about Khukuri House compared to HI. I know HI gets a lot of attention but have not read a lot on here about KH. KH seems to offer a lot and the prices are a lot cheaper. Are they as good of quality or are the higher prices of HI worth it? It seems by the information I find that they are the same in the construction. I want a Panawal (full tang) version and KH seems to offer more in this category.

I like them both, I have to say that HI are built to take a beating, almost "overbuilt"...that said, HI's finish is better, but KH is a good choice to.
Most of the kool aid drinkers for HI will say that its HI or nothing.
I have one from TORA that is top notch, and one from KH that is a good user. There is a model from KH that is my next Kuk for sure! Its a rat tail though.
That said, my favorite Kuk is through HI, its made from Sgt. Kadkha, who isnt an "official" HI Kami, but thats were we go to get his blades.

When you factor in the $50 KH charges for shipping from Nepal, the price gap isn't all that large.

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't know the shipping was so much for KH, that is good to know.

Shipping charges for US buyers from both KH and Tora are the reason they tend to get dismissed.

Functionally, they are no different -- HI doesn't have only its own people make their kukri, and the ones the hire out are some of the same ones making KH and Tora blades. Most will tell you that KH fit and finish isn't as good as HI. Most will tell you that Tora is just as good.

Price-wise, Tora, being out of England, is probably best for European customers, KH for Asian customers and HI for North American customers.

IMO.
