Khyber - Interesting Ebay find (not bought)

Doing a search I came upon this knife which was marked Khyber Japan and with the same code number of 2751 of a Ka-Bar model I bought a short time ago.

Based on the knife design and sheath. It's the same model as the Ka-bar, so I figure Khyber is part of Ka-Bar (based on a similar sounding name), made this model for the company and sold the same design under their own Brand name.

I'm using the Ka-bar instead of Ka-Bar as that's how the knife was marked back then.

Did a search on Khyber in this forum and got no hits

Prices seem to be on par with the Ka-bar model

Turns out doing a completed auction search that another two models from the same period were produced

Model 2750 which is a slightly larger version. Range from about $35 - $228 with most in the $60 range

I did pick up another. Pearl handled model, but currently in Florida. Small crack by one of the pins, so debating about having new scales put on. Cocobolo burl if a knifemaker I know can do it. Pearl if I can find some reasonable priced material. Not sure if genuine or just a plastic look a like

Do a search in Bernard Levines forum and you will find a bit about Khyber knives and their relationship to Kabar knives.
