Hi I'm new to the forums and I was wondering what leatherman tool to get.

Do I get the Kick for 65 or Blast for 85? I'm in NZ so they are a bit pricey.

Also how does the warranty work? Is it any good?

Thanks

I alternate between the Kick and Blast for EDC. You get a lot more utility from the Blast as it has more tools, but the Kick is also better for pocket carry because it is thinner and lighter. For the belt, though, the Blast is preferable because you get scissors, saw, file, etc. which are not on the Kick.

I have no idea how international sales work, but can you not purchase from ebay or elsewhere for $40 USD and get it shipped to NZ? I guess you would if you could.

The Leatherman warranty has a good reputation, though I have never used it.

Ive got a Kick and its good for edc. The bigger models carry better in a belt-sheath.

Leatherman warranty is outstanding. They stand behind their product with no questions asked.

65 is alot for a kick. I think I got mine for like 30 bucks at walmart ! You can get a wave for around that price... Btw I rotate between the kick and wave , both are great tools but the wave has many more tools but weighs significantly more .

65 bucks for a Kick? Wow, those are high prices. I picked up several NIB Kicks from Walmart last year for $18 each to use as gifts. Standard regular Kick with a blade.

If I had to make your choice I would go with a Blast. The Kick is good but its kind of lean on tools so you will probably feel like you got your moneys worth with the Blast.

If this is going to be the only multitool you have, then go with the Blast. The tools lock, so it's safer and more convenient to use. But, if you're just gonna use it for in-pocket EDC with other real tools not far in your car, then buy the Kick because at 5.2 oz it's the lightest Leatherman with full size pliers.
