So yesterday I went to a local knife show in the area, the American Edge Collectors in Oak Lawn IL. To make a long story short there was one guy with a display of about 10 or so CRK's, he had mostly older Reg's some with BG42 and a couple annuals:eek: And the prices were pretty outstanding $385 for what looked to be a NIB reg with bg42. I was really debating getting it but decided not to for some reason and today I'm regretting my decision big time:( Has ayone had similar experiences and can you guys confirm I'm an idiot ?

confirmation +1 :p

my credit card would look like a blur snagging a few of them. I'd like to own a bg42 one of these days. did you take any pictures?

No pics sorry though, when I snag the new iphone I will makeup for lost time though:thumbup:

Sorry, but you're right, it was idiotic to pass up knives like that at that sort of price. :(

Sometimes it pays to think fast and act decisively because opportunity seldom opens a door twice.
On the other hand you would still be happy and content with what you currently have had you not seen those knives at the show.

IMHO you did nothing to kick yourself for and being "Monday morning quarterback" against yourself won't change anything.
Give it some thought and if the opportunity, or one like it, comes your way again you will instantly know the right course to take.

Good luck and good hunting! :)

Don't worry too much about it, or listen to the jerks... for every opportunity you miss there are hundreds more that open up. Just a matter of finding them! You'll know for sure next time.

Of course I have had times where I should have bought, done, said something or what ever and didn't, we all have. That said I have never walked away from a deal like that and so really I can only confirm your suspicions that you are indeed an idiot. :p:thumbup:

If you walked away from it then you didn't want it bad enough, therefore you shouldn't feel bad about it. I try to keep my knife collection very "exclusive" to only knives that I am madly in love with. If I see a knife that I really want, but I'm not crazy ape sh*t over it, it's not worthy to be in my collection. The regular sebenza bg42 is a knife I really like, but I don't want it that bad. So I would have done the same.

Maybe you should have taken a note, how to contact this guy.
That's what I sometimes do.
This doesn't help if the knife is sold...

There have been alot of missed good deals and I've pounced on alot of bad ones, only to kick myself later for purchasing!

Really no need to be upset longer then a day. Were they good deals at the knife show? Certainly. Are they still just knives? Certainly.

Still man, what were you thinking?!!...

....all in good fun:D:thumbup:

Iguess the main reason I didn't buy it was bc it was supposedly NIB but the edge did not appear to be minty fresh ie. there were some tiny microchips, and I have always said if it doesn't feel 100% right walk away so thats what I did. But I did pick up a ZT 0350 I wanted so it wasn't all bad. Oh well live and learn
