Hey gang,

Yesterday I received not one but two packages; don't you just love that? First I got the new Kevin Wilkins metallic turquoise aluminium grips for my 'old' pink Mini-Grip, then in the afternoon the replacement pink Mini-Grip showed up. Ha, nice timing!

The new Wilkins grips have a really odd color. He calls it turquoise, but depending on the light it actually looks anywhere between steel grey, a light pastel green, carribean blue and yes: turquoise in the right light and with a bit of squinting.

Here's the pic of both knives.

Your pics are showing up as a nice turquoise color. That is one of my favorite combinations for a grip, Wilkins and a 555.

Is it easy or hard to swap the scales on a Minigrip? Any online directions?

Atony: The camera does a better job then my eyes, I have to admit. I matched the color of the pink Mini-Grip in Lightroom, so it's fairly accurate. But other pics that I took are rather more plain in color.

Arty: You can find a good tutorial on YouTube. There's a guy with the sniffles who takes you through stripping down the knife and fitting the scales.

Easy or hard… I'd say it's easy. I'm half blind as it is and not very mechanically inclined, but with the right set of Torx screwdrivers and a bit of patience I got it done. Fitting the second washer was a tad tricky as I mentioned, but I got it done.

I'm sure the second time will be far easier. I'd say… if you can work a screwdriver and don't rush it, you'll be fine.
