My experience with Chris Reeve knives thus far has been limited to a handful of Mnandis , and I've been very curious to see how the sebenzas felt in comparison. I got an opportunity to handle some today. To say I was extremely impressed would be an understatement. The large was very heavy duty - capable of much more than I would ever need. The small, on the other hand, was so very tempting. It was a great size and more solid feeling than the mnandi. Because I work in an office setting, though, one that mnandi seems to have been specifically made for, I ultimately passed up a number of great options - snakewood classic, annual classics, leather inlays, and more (again - think kid in a candy store) - and walked out with this one:

Score!!!!!
Be sure to put it in the Mnandi thread that dinokay started.
Beauty, congrats!

WOW, talk about candy, that one is exquisite eye candy for sure. Congrats on a perfect score.

Camel thorn is one of my fav woods on the Mnandi. Awesome my friend!

Beautiful score, loving that pivot! I haven't seen that wood yet, very stunning.

Excellent score. Collection shot?

There isn't much of a collection, especially compared to the likes of several members here, but I posted photos of both of them in the mnandi thread.

Maybe one day I'll add a few more, but the wife's patience has worn about as thin as it can get after the second cabinet of scotch got a little too full. Who knows, though. After seeing in person how fantastic the small sebs are, I may be able to find a way to sneak one or two home :)

Great looking knife !

I wish I had a store near me that stocked CRK.

I was just thinking the same thing, but then I'd need another job...too dinged old for that. Can't hardly get out of my LazyBoy.

...which is exactly why I won't be heading back any time soon. The few I listed were what he had sitting out; I couldn't get him to tell me what was in his safe - his personal collection. After enough discussion he did pull one out, though. It was a flat grind large sebenza with an inscription signature from Chris Reeve on the blade dated 2003. I can only imagine what else he has stashed away that's [sic] "not for sale, but might be at the right price."
