I started a thread earlier this week talking about giving my nephew's, knives and them not enjoying them the way I wished they had. anyway I thought I would try to lighten the mood and show some pics of my kid enjoying a pocket knife. He know he's not allowed to touch them when Im not around, but even if its a closed folder he will carry it around the house for an hour trying to say " careful it cut you". the wife wasnt happy about the pic of him holding one with an open blade but I was right there supervising and making sure no accidents happend. So maybe 2 years old is a little young but ya gotta start-em early right!!!

So lets see your kids or someones kids enjoying there knives. Im sure someone has done this thread before but lets see them anyway. Here is mine and he couldnt be happier.- Joel

top pic is a little bitty imperial ireland I keep on the key chain and the bottom he is holding 3 a camo imperial usa 5175, a craftsman schrade and a schrade 233. LOL

In my opinion 2 years old is much too young to even be touching a knife. My sister would kill me if I let my 3 year old nephew hold an open knife like that.

Cute kid :)

2 is a bit young. If a child is still at an age where they may do irrational things (like throw a tantrum) it is very risky. At that age the consequences of their actions are not comprehended by them. No matter how much and how well you teach them, if they are too young then they may be a risk to themselves or others due to their underdeveloped stage.

My cousin (same age as me) took a kitchen cleaver and chased his mom around the house once when he was 12. It's not like he never touched it, his job in the house was to chop the vegetable and herbs with that cleaver. Been doing it for a few years I remember during which the importance of how dangerous is that cleaver has been drilled repeatedly and consistently. He just threw a tantrum at not getting what he wanted from momma :(

Hey guys I promise you this, the only time my son ever held that open knife was for this pic to get a laugh and a good pic I handed him the knife and my other hand was next to him it was in his hand for maybe 10 seconds I swear. took it right back and put it in my pocket. Im not a bad or ignorant father I promise you that and I allready got a lecture from my wife too. The folders he is carrying around is because there the ones I really cant even get open, you know the ones you gotta use a screw driver to open and ya just keep em in the drawer cause theres no reason to carry a knife you cant even open. sorry I didint want to worry you guys that little guy is dangerous with a wash cloth no less a knife. Im 29 and my wife thinks Im too young for pocket knives,LOL- Joel

Believe me, he'll find a way to get them open...

Yea I know my wife put an end to all pocket knife play tonite.... to be continued in 5 years or so. My bad I wont make the mistake again.

That's fine, I put my little 16 month old son in knife, JawJacker, nunchuck and etc pics all the time. I just think it's cute since he's only 2.5 feet tall and the stuff looks massive on him :)

Give the kid a red felt marker to brandish and play with. Tell him it is a pretend knife, and everything he gets red on is "cut up."

After fooling around for 30 minutes and covering himself in accidental red lines, take it away from him and tell him, "good thing that isn't real blood. Guess you aren't responsible enough for a real knife yet."

Anyone ever see the end of pet cemetery......

lol, that was on a few days ago...And yeah, but that was his dads scaple, lol...and plus he was cursed by evil! but still everytiem I see the part where he slashes herman musters ankle I cringe, lol...:p
