Hey guys. I have a thought in my head of a knife I want made. Below is a sketch im working on and would like yall to help out and give some input. The beauty of me having access to a CAD program is I can tweak any part of this drawing.
I think I have it just about right, but ive never drawn a kerambit before. I owned an Ontario EOD at one time, but sold it to fund more JKs ! :D

If yall have any suggestions please feel free to chim in. I have until December to finalize this drawing so this thread will be ongoing for awhile.

This knife will be used mainly for defensive purposes in a last ditch situation. The knife will be held in a reverse grip with the 'pointy end' facing down or toward my pinky.
The tip of the blade is slightly lower than the handle so it can be used to rip and tear as it makes contact.

My finger grooves are right under 7/8'' wide which is about perfect width of my fingers.

As a martial arts instructor, I'll weigh in. Take out the finger grooves and add a bump or divot on one side so you can orient the edge easily in the dark or in a stressful situation. Make the handle longer than the blade so you can use it without fingers too close to the edge or with gloves.

I would consider adding a depression on the butt end to provide a spot for your thumb in the reverse grip.

This would help facilitate a kind of reverse saber grip while still allowing for a hammer grip as well.

Also, maybe consider some jimping along the back edge to help with trapping.

I've always wanted a JK karambit but the ring was the issue. I like this ringless karambit idea!

Cool, but I'd call this a Hawkbill, not a Kerambit. ;)

I lengthened the handle a bit and moved the grip further to the rear. Took away the finger grooves, but kept the index finger divot to help with orientation.

I think I might want some jimping on the back of the handle and maybe a small divot or jimping on the butt as well.
