Kifaru X-Ray Gen1 vs. Gen2

Anyone have a picture of the old and new torso and lumbar pads on the X-Ray?
This seems to be the only change on the X-Ray with the G2 model. Curious as to how big a difference it is.

I think the general consensus if you read through the Kifaru forums is that the new lumbar pads do make a significant difference....however given the size of the pack....it is probably still worth getting the G1 because you can find them cheaper. I can't recall any other significant changes, but you should look at their web site. They explain what the changes are for each G2 pack.

The website does explain this but they lack larger photos that clearly show things.
I was hoping a couple people could show their packs torso and lumbar padding with larger photos.

I would go into the forum then and do a search on "lumbar". I remember seeing pretty good pics of the lumbar pads at some point in the past.

I agree it's a small pack and even if i haven't used one to really know. You can only pack it so heavy? The big packs it may make a huge difference? The small ones maybe not so much? But if the savings isn't that much? I would just get the G2 its the improved version. But I don't know the price.

The G1 foliage XR (foliage is a specialty color = +10% upcharge) is $377 W/Padded belt and power pull.

The G2 foliage XR (a regular G2 color-no upcharge) is $386 W/ Padded belt and power pull.

No brainer then for the G2!
