Hello all, new to the forum (even though I made the account years ago).
I was hoping to get some help identifying what model and possibly what steel this Kiku Matsuda is made of. The only mark aside from the makers is "11" under one of the scales.
Thanks

I was bored so I did a quick skim over at JPD and couldn't find model that matched your knife. Another odd/unique thing that I noticed about the knife in your photo is that it doesn't have the distinc wavy line (false hamon) portion of the edge created by what looks to be "selective buffing" (for lack of a better term) of the edge that I see on pretty much all of his knives.

FWIW, most (if not all) of his mono-steel knives are made from OU-31 steel, so that's more than likely the blade steel used for that knife.

... (Just some older videos of some older knives I've made in the past)

I wondered if it was an early model, which is why it’s hard to find.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated

Is there no way to find him? Maybe SOG knives can put you in touch with him he is one of their designers after all.
