So I have it in my mind that I may "need" a Killa Zilla but I've never had the pleasure of handling one. For those who have, what are your opinions on them? Thanks for any info.

Make you want to remove heads from the bodies of the undead... ;)

I have the KZII I like the "cool factor" greatly. I have not used it enough to give a real review. Some don't like the handle on the KZII but it seems to work for me.

It is one heavy duty blade for sure. Wasn't a fan of the handle in use ymmv. I am holding out for the Basic Killa Zilla!

I know it's not going to popular but I had a Killa Zilla and sold it because a 70 dollar "deal of the day" HI Khuk out chopped it by a good bit. I was excited when they release them and had to have one but my brother and I camped with both and the HI topped it...not saying it was as tough but for shear chopping/limbing it couldn't keep up. What helped the HI was the handle shape between the middle and ring finger and the forward weight.

I love mine move well through palm and other hard wood. I have a Test Team Kill Zilla.

I don't own a Zilla, but I doubt that there is much that can out chop an HI Ang Khola. But there are many reasons for this. The HI knives have a forward balance and also are 1/2 inch thick. The thick saber/convex grind splits wood well also. Having said that I would have loved to have gotten a Zilla LE.

Here is a quick review by the owner of both:

I had both. Sold them both. The MOABolo is a much better knife in my experience. I also prefer all of my Battle Mistresses over the zillas. As was said before, a Basic Zilla would be amazing. I'd buy 10.

Hmmm, is it worth it? Probably not at the price. Would I trade my Zilla for anything in the world, NOPE! She has out chopped everything I've ever put up against her, from Battle mistresses, to several different HI kuks and a couple different Hawks as well. It the one if I had to sell all my blades, she would be left after the dust settled.

Being fairly new to Busse's, I had to look up the MOABolo. Very impressive looking chopper. I want one. Adding it to my Battle Grade wish list.

I have a test team killa zilla in aged bronze on the way from a ganzaaa in July... Should be here soon... Can't wait to post pics

Opposite for me. TTKZ outchops my MOAbolo, not by a lot though. But then I have a Garth Improved TTKZ, and the G10 grips on my MOAbolo are pretty darn slickery,,,

haven't used a kz2. what didn't you guys like about it compared to ttkz. every time I see a bronzed fbm or ttkz it makes me bummed that I had to sit out that ganza.

I have the KZII. I have thinned the edge. Convex polished. I really need to work on the handle. I wanted to try the machined handle. It is a bit thick in the waist. The palm swell is a bit big in my hand.

I will likely thin mine out, and perhaps add a bit of angle, so it is thinner on the front strap than the back.

Honestly, I think the fusion handle helps prevent torque when chopping. The KZII does not have the same dip in the tail of the handle.

Edited to add, I sanded my handle scales, and got some stripper because of this thread.

6 hits to go through a 2x4 is pretty darn good.

It greatly helps when you have the target pinned to the blocks its sitting on, as In the video. Much less shock is absorbed.
