This morning I have some time to kill, so I thought I would whip out the camera for my first post here in a long time if ever. I have been reading all the great info you guys have to share. I am still in my learning stage of wilderness & survival skills, so I have not had much input for this section of the forums.

I thought I would say hello and post a few pics of my chopper and a friend that has been living on my okra plant.

Pics taken a few minutes ago after a work out in the woods and after a quick bath. There is some sap still stuck on that I need to take a razor to.

Howdy & Welcome to W&SS !Nice pics of the tree frog ! Good to see another BeckerHead:p She looks like she see's alot of action !

Cool froggy. I was about to go to the store last night and noticed one of the little guys on the side mirror of my Tahoe. Relocated him to azalea bushes by the house. I'm pretty jealous that you have okra plants. Fried okra's the next best thing to new knives. Welcome to W&SS.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. My wife loves some fried okra. At one point this summer we had it every night for supper. It got a little old for me but the wife still wantes it almost every night.

I started pickleing some okra, and it has turned out pretty good. I just cut them off the plant and stick them in my pickle jar. Let em sit for 2-3 weeks in the fridged air and they are good to go. You have to try it if you have not yet.

I love my BK 9. It is the best chopper I have used. It is one of the older Cam Co. BK&T's. She had a thick edge on her so I thinned it out and she slices pretty good as well.

I have yet to try a Becker. If I can ever find one, I'm gonna get a Patrol Machete. Those things are rare as Roc's teeth though. I'm in accordance with your wife; I could eat fried okra and fried catfish every day, three meals a day. Of course I'd weigh 300 lbs and die before I hit 40, but I'd enjoy my remaining ten years tremendously. Pickled okra is good too. I wonder what fried pickled okra is like. Fried pickles are good, fried okra is good, and pickled okra is good...may have to try it.

Now that was funny, but true. I may try it and see if I can slide it by the wife :D .

As for the BK6 patrol machete, it is a great large knife. I had to use mine when I was on a camping trip to ARK. a few years back. I was spliting seasoned hard wood with my Cold Steel Recon tanto and it broke. The BK6 took it like a champ and wanted more  .

I retired it after I got my BK9.

Here are a few pics from that trip.
